| Quote ="NickyKiss"Given the circumstances, they’re making decent moves. It feels like these are the second wave of players being given second chances at Salford, after being discarded elsewhere and hopefully they can be as successful as the first ones. It feels like the Salford fans were sold a bit of a false dream with that share scheme but they could still have a decent side to follow. The backline in particular looks good again.'"
Not sure what they thought they where buying but it was clear the share scheme was a glorified bucket whip round but I agree they’re putting together a half decent side again.

Bit surprised it’s only a 1 year deal.

| 1 year probably suits Cust.
Play himself back into an NRL deal for 25 is probably his ambition.,

| Powell officially gone. Pictures on social media of him in Warrington kit at their unveiling, bit strange they announced the squad numbers this afternoon though

Powell is massively underrated imo.

| Great servant for our great club always gave 100% personally I didn't think he did enough running from dummy half as a hooker should do. We will be better with Leeming and O'Neil. But wish Sam all the best and thanks for the memories

| Newcastle apparently unhappy at Wigan that KPP's foot injury may need surgery - reported he was having pain killing injections in the last few games.

| You have to laugh. What did they expect? Wigan to rest him, just so he’d definitely be fit for new club? They’re unbelievable these NRL clubs.

It's not as if they were paying a transfer fee as his contract had ended.

So what exactly are they angry about? I don't understand their point.
Is it that a player has picked up an injury? It happens in a contact sport like ours just a bit of bad luck like every team gets.
Is it the fact KPP played on with the injury? Are they angry with KPP or Wigan for it?Have Newcastle not had players doing similar before? I would say it is pretty commonplace in our sport, players take pain killing injections all the time to play matches with injuries and deal with them in the off seasons. Nothing unusual about this at all and KPP will have been on board with it and wanted it.
If it is the fact they are just learning of this now, what would they have done if they had this information when it happened /while the SL season was still ongoing? He was still a Wigan player, not Newcastle, so what happened during that time is completely between Wigan and KPP and they would have no effect on the outcome. Could they have cancelled his contract on these grounds? Would they? I very much doubt it so the outcome would be the same regardless.
Besides they must have had some knowledge of him carrying an injury as everybody else knew, as the article states it is the reason he wasn't playing for England. Sounds like Newcastle moaning for the sake of moaning for me.

Wouldn’t take notice. I highly doubt anyone at the club has said it it will be the journalist anti English crap. Even if Newcastle are unhappy with Wigan, they still loose out in the end as we’ll keep the next player they were planning on buying
Edit: to add its not like Newcastle are going to challenge next year and with no relegation in the NRL who’s

| If it makes them think twice about pinching the UK's promising youngsters, good.
I also hope they give his agent hell, because they're the rats at the root of all this.

| Aside from Newcastle moaning though, it's surely not good to be keeping injured players on the field with the help of a stream of injections? That can't be doing the player good in the long run.

A lot will depend on the situation I guess and also the players thoughts. I’d imagine early in to the season they wouldn’t have looked to just get him through games but coming towards the back end, when we were short on numbers and he had the chance to go out a Grand Final winner, I’d imagine both parties would’ve been in full agreement. The Aussies might see this as a pub league but a chance to win a Grand Final in front of 60,000 people doesn’t come around every day. I doubt he’ll be winning anything else in his time Down Under, so I can understand why he didn’t want to miss the opportunity.

No disrespect to either of them, but I'd have Sutton over both Mago & Cooper (because of his injuries). Probably would be better value on the cap too.

There's the legendary and comical incident regarding Andy Gregory who allegedly burst into Maurice Lyndsey's office, demanding that if Ellery Hanley was getting a cortisone injection that he wanted one too. Poor Andy thought it was a new sports car ![Very Happy icon_biggrin.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_biggrin.gif)
