| Wandering around Paris this morning before I make my way back, had a chat with a few Union fans. They've heard the Farrell rumours and seem to think he's leaving, one even suggested he's going to announce it while lifting the World Cup trophy ![Laughing icon_lol.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_lol.gif)

| Well if we didn't know already - Owen Farrell can kick a ball. He also seems to be a master of backchat.

| Owen Farrell absolutely bossing it tonight for England.
The biggest tragedy for us and RL was never Andy Farrell leaving. It was Owen Farrell going with him. What a player he would have been in League.

| The drop goal was brilliant and he kicked everything else with aplomb but I thought (which was a tactic) that England and him kicked quite poor out of hand. After winning the ball back after the try the kick by Steward (I think it was) was awfully executed but also a poor choice, surely kick it down the field and hopefully out of touch and make them go 80 meters in 4 minutes. The set pieces themselves kill minutes.

| I'm sure OF did absolutely what the coaching staff asked of him. But it was dull and torpid stuff. you don't beat the beat sides playing like that. Although SA were far from their best either.

Yea was dire. The effort to stop that try was poor as well
I was impressed with the penalty goals and drop goal however. Some shots from far out

If it’s the same interview as soon as he said it I thought that’s a bit of clue.
I’ve tried to find it again this morning but without success. Did he say “pastures new” rather than elsewhere? Irrespective of his actual wording it did sound like a very big clue.
Interesting times.

It was tense in the fact that the underdogs were close to winning but you always felt SA would find a way to win but after the game finished and the excitement/tension dropped (I did really want England to win) after the final whistle and I reflected on the game it was f’ing awful. Suppose from England a point of view their tactics nearly worked but it was very negative, South Africa didn’t really have an answer or the quality to take the game by the scruff of the neck and it took really weak defence and what a lot of people are saying was an iffy penalty to win the game. It’s probably better for England as those spoiling tactics I don’t think would have worked against NZ and I think a heavy beating would have been on the cards.

| Saw 10 mins at the end. I hope for Farrell’s sake he is going to get to play rugby league for a couple of years. He deserves to have some enjoyment in his life because playing and watching that sport full time must be mind numbing. It gets a huge billing but then so does show jumping, shooting and canoeing in the Olympics. Fair play to Union, they’re selling ice to eskimos.

| Great to see the Nsemba renewal - I'm sure he'll be in the 17 most weeks next year.
Fingers crossed we hear positive news on a renewal for Harry Smith soon too. Would also be very interesting to know what the status of the marquee player spots is and what the plans for them are going forward with all of the big names, recruits and young players developing. It would surprise me if there is room to keep all of French, Field and Smith post 2024 considering the salary increase Smith will warrant after his contract expires.

Union making stuff up. I wonder why? Perhaps to offset some upcoming bad news?

It’s classic Dan too.
He confirms absolutely nothing other than what everyone else has said, it isn’t just a rumour, things are happening he may or may not sign.
If he is coming this will have been rapped up long before now.
Can’t imagine Saracens will be sat there letting him take his time and go into the new season which I think already is underway without any idea if their prized asset and most high profile player was going to be with them for the 23/24 season.
I am now starting to think it will happen, it just seems like the timing is perfect for it for both Wigan and the player himself.
