| Quote ="DaveO"Or the fact Wigan don't want them cup-tied so should we get another injury crisis and progress in the cup they can still play for us.
I am sure Ainscough and Farrell would love it if they were ruled out of playing for Wigan in a cup final if we got there and slots in the side became available for them
Dave'"
Dave
Farrell played for us at Sheffield so is tied to Wigan anyway and a condition of Ainscough's loan to Cas was that he could not play in the cup for Cas (to prevent him being cup tied). It is therefore unlikely that we would allow him to be tied to any other club. Ben Davies may be allowed to play for Widnes but that depends on whether our coaches consider it likely that he would be needed to be recalled if injuries strike and so be needed for later rounds. If they think they are unlikely to use him then he, like Neil Holland could be allowed to play for his dual reg club in the cup (though I suspect he like Ainscough will not be allowed to).
I think though that judging by the wink at the end of Steve Fox's post that he was joking.

| Unfortunately as much as he trys his heart out he simply isnt up too the standard that we require to win anything this season. He has too many holes in his game.
We have 3 better wingers in the team that we would all agree deserve a starting stop ahead on him.
With him going back to Widnes it looks as though Goulding will be back this weekend.

He'll have been back in training very soon after it. You have to work very hard for ligament damage anyway, but I doubt they'd risk bringing him back early. Damaged ligaments + rugby don't mix particularly well.

Strange how the weakness can be on the inside of some players but they still get blamed along with them even thought the crap one/ones is/are supposed to be more experienced. Chasing down one of the fastest in the league from behind and catching him to stop him at least scoring two sure tries counts for nothing!!

| He was probably a bag of nerves last week with all the hype in the media about his so called big chance to get into the first team. He does have some holes in his game but then again who doesn't and his desire to play for Wigan is without question. I would sooner have a team full of folk like him than the likes of some players we have had in the fairly recent past and I truly hope his dream comes true one day but in the meantime he would maybe do himself a favour if he just settles into a regular team spot and starts enjoying his rugby again rather than wondering where the hell he will be playing the next week. Keep the faith Sean - look forward to seeing you back with us when the time is right.

He can come back off dual reg at very short notice I think. He can also train some of the time with Wigan which must be a good thing to get some of the MM type coaching under his belt.
I was sceptical of the dual reg idea when it first came up but I think its preferable to loaning players out to poor SL teams as the players still get to train with Wigan.

| Having seen the squad I still don't get this, with Phelps out injured he could have stayed on the wing with Richards moving to full back. I can only deduce that he must have fallen behind Pryce in the pecking order.

Could Ainscough be going the way Kevin Brown went when he was at Wigan? Believing his own hype and getting too big for his boots?

| Ainscough I think is a great finisher given the chance. He just needs some time to develop the rest of his game. Last night he didn't really have much of the ball but he will improve. Ben Davies however will be in a Wigan shirt next season, he is too good to stay with us. Could see him being in an England shirt in a season or two, very bright future same to be said with Farrell.

Where is the evidence he has an attitude problem? He gave an interview about not playing for Cas v Wigan and in that came across as if he had his head screwed on properly and he seems to have accepted he must wait for his chance a while yet.
People need to get off his back and give up with the exaggeration on how poor his defence is and we don't need to start a myth he has an attitude problem, though he could be forgiven for being a bit miffed that his only chance this season in the first team was in that side v Quins.

I agree with you on the attitude front Dave. The defence issue sadly is not exaggerated, the problems are there and are often very costly and occur whatever level he is playing at. That doesn't mean that they cannot be fixed, hopefully they can be.

Again, read my post properly. I said 'Could this be a case of...' I was just asking the question based on the fact that he cant get a game and looks extremely out of favour at Wigan.
Personally I have no idea what Ainscoughs attitude is at all. And I dont want him to fail, im a massive fan of his and I think that if he can prove himself to Maguire and Roberts Starts at fullback next year then there is no reason why he cant be given the number 2 shirt, because we all know what he can do when he's on form.
