| I said at the time you could have given ainscough set of step ladders and he would not of beat King to the ball. King is 6 - 4 tall, was running towards the ball and in the air - he must have been about 8 feet in the air when he caught it.
I actually think he would have scored that try against any winger in the league.
Saying that Ainscough got absolutely no protection - King had a free reign to attack the ball - Phelps is a waste of space.

| That's Shaun Ainscough people.
It wasn't a confidence thing and it wasn't anything to do with morale.
Ainscough is a very good player with a very good future providing he is coached correctly and works on certain aspects of his game. For the past few weeks people (the usual suspects) have been simply looking on a stats site and saying ''Oh, he scored 'x' amount he should play and Noble is a such and such if he doesn't!!''
He determination was there tonight, but he wasn't composed in attack or defence. At times he looked dangerous, other he made totally wrong decisions...But he's young and it's expected. Unfortunately, he isn't the massiah and people have to realize that.

The King try was always going to happen nd it ws always an option Wire were going to exploit they attempted it on severl occasions prior to it working for them. Ainscough never stood a chance. Why for the love of god did we not drop Phelps or Richards in there on the last play? Easily done nd a much better option.
BN is a bloody joke.

| Poor mans Dean Gaskell.
On a serious note, you have to stick with him and he'll come good, look at Ryan Hall at Leeds and Briscoe at Hull, similar to Penny in many quarters but Penny hasn't quite gone to plan as yet.

We have too many morons on this board for that.
I just hope Ainscough, or any of the other young lads, don't read any of this drivel.

| Same old stuff with fickle wigan rugby supporters, give the kids a chance and rip em to bits for theIR shortfalls......Sign aussie rejects and we should be playin the kids.
Same in the stands at the game, makes me sick. As supporters no wonder we have the royal Pi** ripped out of us for our attitudes!
Some people need to get a grip and realise that we do not hae the god given right to have the best players, to bring through the best players, and to win eveything in sight!
We are becoming the rugby league version of Newcastle United!
FACT....RANT OVER.

While there is a whole in my Phelps is not a centre. People bag Pryce for not looking interested but i would much rather run with him in the centre than Phelps who is a 1 or nothing.

Don't talk sense on here.
Our younger players were poor tonight, and it is to be expected, a lot of hope and expectation put on their shoulders.
The effort tonight was superb, but we have to stop conceding penalties in tight games.
I'll comment more when I have watched the video, because a couple of the penalties appeared harsh.
All three Wire tries came from our penalties, I don't remember them making a clean break all game.
On a positive note, I thought Amos Roberts had his best game for us.

So true.
Personally, I'd play Ainscough next week. He still looked dangerous but like I said, he needs to stay slightly more composed without losing his elusive un-predictability.

He played tough tonight Roberts and defended superbly. He came out of the line 2 or 3 times and put cracking hits in.
The effort is there but the basic rugby league skills and composure isn't and that has to change.

Bridge tore you open at one point, I think you're biggest let down was your pack, TL and Tomkins were very busy early on and you looked dangerous but your pack was making 30-40 metres at most whilst we were hitiing probably 50-60? I think you're props just aren't good enough you have good steady players in the back row but you're props are awful, which to be fair is something that has been highlighted by man Wigan fans before.

Spot on.
Coley came nowhere near his recent form, Fielden got bullied, Feka isn't cutting it at the moment and Prescott is playing very few minutes.
Morley and Carvell were the mian reason Wire won the game.

We commented at the game how poorly Prescott has played recently and if O'Carroll had been fit it would have been his "turn" for a few games.
Not a criticism, just that the young props need rotating.

Think if you watch it again your opinion will change.
Not our most eye catching but in my opinion our best Prop tonight, came up with some pretty big plays at important times in my opinion.

Maybe, it's always difficult judging a game from behind the sticks when you normally watch from the side, but Prescott seemed to get dominated in the tackle and lost the ball "again" a few times.

He's another player who's form as gone drastically backwards since the Saints game.
You can't help but feel they've pulled the old 'we've beat a good side so we're the bees knees again' trick.
We never seem able to back up good preformences. Where with most teams it's a spring board with us it seems to get the players ahead of themselves.

How would your grandma have gone on at Quins, or against Saints on Maunday Thursday, at Salford, against cas at home etc?
I'm not saying this kids hasn't got his faults but this old bol*ocks about him not being ready, poor in defence etc is just that. He's a fine young player who needs his rest now and again but we can't tie him up and beat him with a staick everytime a 6ft 4 winger outjumps him.
Richards tore Raynor to bits at Hull a couple of years ago yet i'm sure the Hull fans didn't say he's useless that Raynor, all the trys he's ever scored have been walkins blah blah blah.
I fall in between both camps and think it's right to pull him out of the fire now and again but to say he's just not ready on the back of 17 tyrs in 10 games is frankly laughable.

correct, there was one occasion when taking the man on the outside was a try, a bit like the first try he scored for us. He came inside like every other wing. He's had the flair reomved in the last few weeks,
