It’s a tough pill to swallow if you’re a Saints fan. Some dodgy calls by the ref but ultimately they have bottled it big time and how can they be confident of going on winning the GF now?

They can beat teams on cruise control all year but when it gets to August they implode. Pride comes before a fall and another big fall is coming their way in October!

The decision to award a penalty for obstruction is made even more ridiculous by the fact that Lineham was being tackled by the marker defender at the time of the supposed obstruction.

Regarding the Knowles no try, someone on redvee has actually said hicks should not have been given the game after those(ridiculous)death threats were made public and the rfl gifted the match to warrington. It has been sheer comedy value on there today!

It is nice to have a read of the pit of self loathing which is Redvee but more sensible heads will realise that Saints will learn from their mistakes. Although we have been thrown a lifeline we are still playing catchup with Wire and Saints being in pole positions. A confident Wire and a hurt Saints isn't going to make things easy and some people are underestimating the quality of the other teams around us and have already mapped out our route to Old Trafford in the same way that I keep planning what I will do when I win the lottery.

I haven't mapped it out. For me, anything is a bonus after the start to the season. We all knew it would be a transitional season but the way it is going we can challenge at least and take Saints' guaranteed trophy away from them. They wont have an easier chance than they have had this season. easy to look great when the rest of the league has been undercooked. We shoild be huge challengers next season. Anything this season for me is a bonus

It was a truly terrible decision made by one of the worst referees in one of the worst eras of refereeing that I can ever remember (and that's saying something), but Saints still had plenty time to win the game. They lost because Warrington out-thought and out-muscled them and because their star turns just didn't show up.

Also, I can't help wondering if Makinson - who I like a lot - might have scored that try if, instead of showboating, he'd actually had both hands on the ball.

I’ve said the same thing about Makinson. He’s a cracking winger but there is really no need for the theatrical dives almost every time he gets near to the line. Not as bad but reminded me of Ryan Atkins stupid dive when he got pushed out of play! Still tickled me that does!

Agree about Makinson. He is a great finisher but he clearly likes the headline show pony finish.


If he had gone low rather than attempting the swan dive that would have been a try without any doubt.

Ignoring the Catalans game last year, the attendance of just under 63k was the lowest for a Wembley final since 1998.

It's amazing how they've been telling us since 2014 that the Ben Flower sending off wasn't the reason we lost the GF that year but now a "no try" decision in the 3rd minite was such a game changer that there was no way they could come back from it. Priceless!

Redvee has gone into meltdown... made some entertaining reading to say the least. Yes we had the Knowles call go our away but the Lineham one was unlucky, especially if you scrutinise every ‘barge over’ from dummy half. Percival scored from a blatant forward pass against us in June which changed the game at the HJ, so it’s fair to say every team gets a bad call every now and then...

At the end of the day we stuck to a very basic but effective game plan, kept the pressure on saints and they cracked with the amount of errors forced. Vast majority of Saints fans expected to turn up and win just shows you anything can happen with the right attitude on the day. Play the game, not the occasion.

Very similar to 2002 when Stains "only had to turn up" at Murrayfield in order to beat us.
