on Friday only 10 of our named 1st 17 squad actually played missing were:-

goes to show that strength in depth of squad is important as Saints only had 6 of their 1st 17 named squad missing..

this is posted as tongue in cheek as the 1-17 are probably not the starting 17 if neither team had any injuries/suspensions

Aside from Bowen at the minute and possibly Thornley all of those get in a first choice Wigan 17.

I'm the first to hold my hands up and say Saints run of injuries has been very unlucky and it hurts them because they always seek to centre around their halfback options but that's up to them to get adequate cover.

If we were missing Williams and Smith we'd play Hampshire and Powell (as we did against Huddersfield) and if one of those two back ups got ruled out we'd put in Lockers or Sarginson and I'm sure we'd back Doran or Shorrocks to do the job.

that's what a squad is for.....adequate cover for all eventualities, there will always be injuries in a full on contact sport. It's how you cope when you get them what counts
