| Its great that's down here in Sydney next year, even better that both my teams are in it. Had a great day yesterday getting up early to watch Wigan win and then watching the Roosters win at ANZ last night. Cant believe I saw both my teams won their grand finals. Should be an interesting WCC, although not sure who I want to win.
I hope lots of Wiganers come down for it.

| Steve Mascord wrote in the SMH -:
[iWe were assured mid-year that the World Club Challenge would be in Australia in February and that the previous hodge-podge organisation of the game was a thing of the post. But that announcement will be sorely tested now that Wigan and Sydney Roosters will be involved. Leeds pushed for the game to be played on these shores while big-city clubs such as Brisbane and Melbourne were the NRL teams seen as being capable of turning a profit. South Sydney were going to take the game to Perth. And the exchange rate has dropped since the decision was made. Perhaps this could be the year we get the mythical neutral venue in the Middle East or Asia. But DW Stadium, Wigan, must be firming.[/i
Would be an experience if it is played in Oz though.

Majortravel seem to be the cheapest airfares for economy tickets.

| Having emigrated to Melbourne last year, I was gutted that I could not be there to witness the double live, although I was up every weekend at 5am to watch on Aussie Eurosport or the radio. I'm looking forward to meeting up with my fellow Wigan fans in Aus to shout on the boys..
If anybody needs any help when booking, give me a shout for advice. Roll on the Wcc

It's not a club event so is in the hands of the RFL and NRL.

| The RFL will have to consult all 14 superleague clubs plus all the championship clubs before putting the venue of the game to a vote but they may still decide to go with a different venue should that not suit.
I believe favourite is to play a third of the game in Wigan, a third in Sydney and a third on the moon but they've not decided how to fund the trip to the moon yet. They're hoping the sponshirship deal with 'official bingo partners' Foxy bingo may cover it.

In the current climate expect the RFL to timetable the game for Maundy Thursday in Sydney and then expect us to fulfil the Good Friday Derby.

I am a bit puzzled here, doesn't any match played in league or cup come under the jurisdiction of the governing bodies. (RFL or NFL)
By that I mean the governing bodies organise the relevant fixtures and dates matches are to be played and the clubs just get on with it.
The RFL and NFL will come to a decision on when and where the match is to be played and then it should be up to the Clubs involved to decide how they get there, then it is up to the Clubs to organise any packages or leave it to the individual if the have to make their own arrangements.

| It will be a mistake playing in Sydney.
The SFS will be lucky to get half full. Could very well lose money.
Roosters will more or less be the same, Wigan will be without very good players.
The other anomaly is the refs. If it is an Aussie ref, Ashley Klein apart, Wigan could get battered on the penalty count and the score be dreadful.
That has happened before with International matches run by Aussie refs and will most certainly happen again. Wigan should avaiod becoming willing victims.
IL & SW need to think very long and hard about this one.
If Sonny Bill Williams is playing and the other Roosters stars the DW will have over 20,000 in and the game will make a profit. We would have a SL referee who would allow a contest and a great spectacle.
Only one venue for me and that's the DW.
(I was in Brisbane '94 so I do know we've won in Aus before.)
