will that not be taking into account season ticket seats that are reserved until tuesday? Or have I got that wrong?
Got mine in the south this morning. Be great if we can get anywhere near 20k for this game. It would be a great achievement considering the short amount of time and the attendance for the play off game.

Don't forget that all season tickets seats won't show as available until they go on general sale on Wednesday.

Just read the official site, it will be the season ticket holders with allocated seating.
Even with three full sides the capacity is over 19,000 which is over the Langtree Park capacity anyway so I don't see an issue there.
Obviously there are will be some upset saints fans (having to pay an extra couple of quid to sit in East/West), but the pricing is set by the RFL not Wigan.

I didn't expect to be getting a huge attendance for this one regardless of all the uncertainty about the venue so I don't think the north stand being shut will cause a massive issue. and like you say, 19,000 is still more than Langtree Park, Leigh, Widnes and Warrington. Maybe the Brigante's can be let loose on the north stand before hand with flags etc? and then we have 3 pretty full stands on tv with a booming atmosphere, Now wouldn't that be a great outcome?
I don't think saint's fans have any real grounds to moan about it, they are still being given a generous allocation. Ideally they want to have a full lot together but that's not really feasible as a lot of season ticket holders would end up being unable to reserve their usual seats.
Looking forward to what should be a cracker

I don't think it is. Saints charged £12 and £14 for the game against Oldham in spite of it being at Langtree Park. I think RFL pricing kicks in at semi final time doesn't it when it's neutral venues and all that?

| Read some Saints fans saying they won't go because they can't sit in the North Stand and will watch it on the big screen instead at Langtree park.
Cracking support that which the Saints players will get great benefits from!
I wouldn't mind they'll have a better view from the east or West stands anyway.

Its simple maths, like when you came to our gaff. 3.5k tickets into 10k season tickets wont go, or would you expect all saints fans just to stand out side?

As I've just explained on the Saints site, that is not the case.
Quote ="Rogues Gallery"Simon that's not true. Saints are entitled to 30% of available tickets. approx 6,000
www.therfl.co.uk/~rflmedia/docs/ ... on%20A.pdf
(e) The visiting Club may request that advance sale tickets be issued and if requested shall be entitled to be provided, in order to sell at face value, up to 30% of all tickets made available for general sale to the public. Standing, seating and hospitality tickets shall count towards the 30% calculation, but, for the avoidance of doubt, the visiting Club shall not be entitled to sell any hospitality tickets, and the home Club shall have reasonable discretion as to how to break down the 30% between standing and seating on safety grounds.
Also pricing.
(a) The charges for admission shall be agreed by the Clubs no later than 2 days after the opposition is known, but, either in the event of a disagreement on written application by one Club or where a RFL approved ticketing scheme is in place the Board shall decide. All prices shall be announced to the public via the media before the round is played and in any event no later than 24 hours after the charges are agreed (as above).'"

But the issue wasn't that these people couldn't get tickets so your point isn't relevant.

You didnt fill the north stand for the play off game last year, and you wouldnt need an allocation of 10k

| I think this could be the lowest saints following we have seen at the DW. What a shame it is that RL are no longer bothered about the cup. I love it. This game deserves a full house.

It's a shame.
I know quite a lot of folk who just can't be bothered attending after all the fuss the venue has made and the fact it is the Challenge Cup just adds to that 'can't be bothered' mode unfortunately.
It's not put me off; I'll be there, but it's a shame that our following won't be as big as normal.
Will be interesting to see the home support too...

I think the game may only just break the 10k barrier.

I am expecting a low attendance aswell. Even without all the messing about with the venue I still think it would have been the same.
Season ticket holders in the space of a few weeks will be shelling out for 2 rounds of the cc and then the magic weekend so a lot of people just simply can't justify paying so much in the space of a few weeks for watching the rugby, regardless of who its against.
Had the rounds been further apart it may have given more people chance to save penny's. I fear for the CC.

I agree. Especially with the highlighted bit.
EVERYTHING should be done to save and promote the Challenge Cup. It especially "hisses" me off when people on here say it doesn't matter. It does, people who don't know much about Rugby League still relate to The Cup. Sadly, the BBC seems to have got infected by people who at best don't know/care about our game, at worst they are anti Rugby League.

| It's current format is pathetic and is not only hurting the cup attendances but also has a knock on effect with the play offs because the semis and final are close to the start of those.
Add in how difficult and demanding it is to try and back up a cup win with a good play off run and it's as clear as day changes need to be made.
John Kear said they should switch the early couple of rounds to pre season. That way you get all teams having competitive warm up fixtures, the chances of upsets will increase and you've got people desperate to see some live rugby league after the off season.
Have the early rounds in Mid Jan and early Feb, the quarters in March, Semi's in April and the final in mid to late May. The crowds will go up, the system will be fair and the jobs a good un.....but we won't because the BBC decide when these fixtures are played not the RFL.

Have to agree Robbo, just done a quick calculation and for 2 of us ( 1 being a concession ) since 15/4/12 I have paid out approx £240 for tickets that includes CC 2 home games, MM day ticket, Fev away, Hull away, Hudds away and this week will be Leeds away, that's a lot of extra cash in less than a month, not counting season ticket cash for that period, think CC needs spreading out and not sure about MM but at least that will be a lot cheaper this year and no nightmare train ride back from Cardiff on a Monday morning.

Also the fact that we have played St Helens 7, soon to be 9, times within a year. The derby is certainly losing its prestige as a spectacle! Its difficult to hype them up (Good Friday excluded) when we play them so often
