That's just an urban myth. Only if copyright infringement has occurred - i.e. the person who didn't own the copyright puts it on YT. But I'm sure you knew that already.

| Quote ="Odem"I have seen wire and saints fans walking from the train station to the ground singing! That is all that went on. No violence. Nobody having too much to drink. No trouble.
We walked through the centre of the town to the pub singing and went for a drink. Then went to the ground, when we got their we were singing. Let lads be lads. It is just a bit of singing in the street. We got off the train and were followed by many younger lads attaching themselves to the group, we don't mind. We were just singing, nobody got hurt, no trouble!
I saw many other things on that day which nobody has mentioned, lads blind drunk with red faces also seen in riversiders shirts occasionally, nobody ever mentions them!
That is all the group has to say on the issue really.... I can't be doing with another RL fans 18page thread so I will leave it there.

Its not the singing...its the singing about the town being full of s**t, covering faces, and walking down the road with banners blocking the place off etc that I think most fans would object to as being intimidating/ offensive and inciting trouble. OK so a large proportion of fans will sing these songs on the ground, but singing them in the middle of the town, where there are people and families with kids who may just be out shopping, going about their general business, acting this way is wrong IMO. Further its only a matter of time before similar mindless morons from the opposing team start responding to this, we end up with a stand off, a few to many drinks and it all boils over.
Why not just walk to the ground (on the pavement), sing when you're at the stadium, and have a good time like the majority of fans, rather than acting like children and looking for trouble.
Also to compare this to the riversiders lads, who at all matches just go for a laugh, a crack, and a few drinks, and never cause any trouble is a joke. No one ever mentions them as they dont cause trouble, or even get close to it! Ok so many of them get blind drunk...so what! So they had red faces? How the hell is this comparable?!!!!....hardly walking through saints town centre, with scarfs over their faces, blocking roads and shouting offensive chants like some EDL march is it?!
How you can fail to see this as threatening, offensive, and inciting trouble is beyond me?! Your about one level down from the chavs in mcdonalds last week. Grow the hell up, watch the rugby like an adult, and then you might find that adults actually want to be friends with you, rather than having friends, as it seems by your videos, who are moronic teenagers!

| Ps. Yes I have also seen groups of teenagers from st helens and wire walk through wigan like this. The last occasion after the wire game when 30-50 of them were singing and shouting abuse on the canal towpath at the families and normal fans who were just crossing the bridge to go home- people who may be elderly, or have children.
...I thought the same of them as I do when watching your videos...childish morons!

Was it necessary to block the main road out of the bus station though? Could you not have walked on the pavement like every other person with a shred of intelligence?

Spot on...im certainly not middle aged....the pied piper has just pm'd me trying to justify this and told me his age- im only slightly older than him, yet still have the maturity and intelligence to realise this is not the way to behave!
I love nothing more than going to games, having a skinful of beer, and singing songs both in the pub and on the ground, but I dont act like a Pill0ck when im doing it! Its just common sense and people who love our club not wanting us to be associated with this idiot element - It nothing to do with middle aged people condeming this.
As I said in my original post I think some of what the Brigantees have done have been brilliant and has really improved the match day experience, but things like this just make me cringe and also at the same time worry where its all heading.
This is not Wigan rugby and it is not rugby league!....Im proud to be associated with a sport and a team which in the substantial majority differentiates itself from many of the unsavoury elements society and other sports cannot....I do not want to see the club or game I love denigrate the way football has!
If these lads want to act like this then I would rather actually lose them as fans, and let them go and support latics where in all honesty they will be more likely to fit in.
Pied Piper - Ive Pm'd you back...I hope some of what ive said sinks in!

Asking for trouble? How exactly? I was in The George pub on Good Friday, full of wiganers. Then a group of st Helens fans come in singing 'Wigan rugby is full of ars*holes' I'm sure you know the rest of the words... I found this quite intimidating and it could have caused a full on riot. These people were in there 40s and 50s and should know better. Utter disgrace. Sorry no video evidence tho!

Think you've just destroyed your own argument! Its not about comparing to other fans.....as ive said above, I acknowlege saints and wire have acted very similarly to this element of the brigantees while walking too and from our ground through wigan and I think the same of them as I do of the actions of the lads on the video.
Its unwanted and has potential to cause trouble - not only that, as you point out, it also has potential to be offensive and intimidating"

Pied Piper take note - the very same thing i pm'd him and one of my biggest concerns - If they behave like they did in that video when we play wire then unfortunately I cant see that game passing without incident

| I know what you're saying Nogga, you're just having a laugh and if those people with the banner went with those intentions and other people weren't aggravated by it, great.
What you're not seeing is you can't control how people will react to it, you're POTENTIALLY causing a problem.

The older group of saints fans were directing the chants at Wigan fans in the pub which is far more intimidating! It was taken as banter tho which is how it should be!

I GIVE UP!!!
The problem being, their acting in the very same way the saints fans did that you were calling intimidating and having potential to cause a riot!
Behaving like this through a town centre is intimidating, offensive, and has potential for kick off!
Have a sing and a craic with your mates in the pub and in the ground - no one here is the fun police quite often we will get two sets of fans in a pub singing back and forth at each other which is banter, a good craic and a laugh, and one of the things im proud our game can do that others cant!
It is completely different to blocking the road of the town centre, singing offensive chants about the town you are in, covering up your faces with scarves, and looking more akin to a football hooligan following or the EDL than rugby league supporters!
Behave like this at wire and it will kick off as Horatio has just said - This is what the majority of people want to avoid!
The other point he has also just perfectly demonstrated is no one is accusing you of purposly acting in a way that has potential to cause trouble, intimidate people, or being offensive, but just because you're not meaning to act in this way, doesnt mean that your actions can be seen to incite trouble or intimidate or offend people!

| I know some rough people, when i'm with them i don't feel intimidated in fact i feel quite comfortable because i know them and they're my friends, whereas if i walked in to a pub and saw them and i didn't know them i'd be very weary of them.
You're not seeing the full picture or understanding human nature.

Whos to say that anyone in st helens didnt think your chants and behaviour was directed at them?
The issue here is its in the perception, and the vast majoirty are telling you that your actions, while perhaps not intended, do have potential to be perceived as causing offence, being threatening, intimidatory, or inciting trouble.
Surely in the cold light of day you can see that walking though a town centre singing that it is full of s^^t has this potential - In the same way that moreso singing W@nky Warrington will have if you do that when we go there! There are people there who wont even be going to the game or may not know a game is going on (granted they'd have to be dim on good friday but there is still potential)
This for them, is the same as me rocking up in the centre of liverpool tomorrow, with a banner and 40 lads singing anti liverpool songs, and this is only one aspect of the behaviour that is problematic!
