All I want to see is the best players turning out for my team and ripping who ever stands in our way to ribbons! Moreover I want to see the best the Aussies and Kiwis have to offer, the Brett Kennys and the Dean Bells, the Gene Miles and the Trent Barretts lining up in Cherry and White too! And when it comes to the WCC I want to see us put in legendary performances like the time we destroyed Brisbane in their own back yard! In other words, I want to see Wigan as the world beaters we once were! Do you think we'll do that by meekly doffing our caps handing over our best players to the Aussies? I'm not often one for criticising other fans but I have to say attitudes like yours make me sick! Call yourself a fan? Why don't you just support an Aussie side if you have such an inferiority complex? I think the saying is" WIGAN till I die". Maybe you would prefer "Wigan til I die unless an Aussie side wants our best players, in which case let them have them because I don't really care about Wigan, just the players". Pathetic!

He wasn't though. The freedom that fullback adds to his game has seen him become a freak. I honestly can't think of any superlatives that can describe this lad at the minute. We'll agree to disagree, but Sam Tomkins IS a fullback and his game has improved considerably since the switch.

He's a freak. Outstanding talent. The best I've seen come through our academy in a decade. The English Darren Lockyer. I hope he goes to the NRL when his contract has run out. He's too good for Super League. No-one can lay a finger on him.

Come on guys! Tomkins is a class player and imo probably the best in SL at the moment but has a long way to go to become one of the world legends of the game! That can only be achieved by consistantly playing as he is at the moment against the best players in the world eg the Aussies and Kiwis.

On the other side of the coin we had someone like Schofield who was successful in a dozen or so international matches (although we won nothing of note), yet was pretty poor for much of his domestic career.....and yet, he is looked fondly upon (in Yorkshire anyway) as an eighties legend.

We all know exactly whats going to happen now with Sam, we'll play the Aussies in the 4 nations, he wont score a hat trick and set up 9 tries and these boards will be swarming with "see, he's crap, cant do it at international level, he's one dimensional, overrated" blah blah blah, in fact, bookmark this.

Correct. Anything less than Sam single handedly DESTROYING Australia and New Zealand will result in him being increasingly barracked by the moronic minority and the trolls running wild on here. Personally, I think he's in a no win situation. At international level the biggest disadvantage Sam has that he doesn't have at club level is the coach.
