I have uncle joes mint balls song which is what the tune is taken from on a tape as some of our friends were in Lancashire folk band that did it if that's any good? Other than that the sheet music for the song is on the uncle Joes website maybe some fans could get together and do a new version-prob very far fetched idea but just throwing it out there!

If an MP3 got sorted, it could then be passed on to the club to see if they would play it pre and/or post match.

Would be great to hear the us all belting it out.

Always admired the way Rhinos fans all sing 'Marching on Together', though they lose points for nicking it off the football.

There are USB record players out there, which are designed for the purpose of transferring your vinyl collection onto MP3 or other digital format.

Last one I looked at was about £100 though, so they're a but pricey.

There are plenty musicians out there. Who fancies having a go at updating the lyrics and putting a new version out? Doesn't have to be an official club release does it?

Without being funny, you'll never get that song going before Wembley. Only a small percentage of Wigan fans read these boards so most won't have heard of it, those that have will know the old lyrics. Ancient and Loyal hasn't caught on for the same reason, people simply don't know the words and it's not easy to pick up.

It's took most fans 6 months to learn 'Dale Cavese', and there's no words in that !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Agreed, you hear it now and again anyway. We need to make it 'our' song.

However, if the song is going to be played at the stadium on matchdays we need a new version or the original version.

Celtic have loads of clubs songs like this all to original tunes and it really builds the atmopshere.

Do any of our posters have friends in bands who would be willing to take the risk and record it (or do we try and get John Martin to do the new version?)

You don't need any money - I can do it for free at uni (I'm a Music student). We have the facilities, musicians, equipment and people who can do a professional mix at the ready - free. Sadly though it would have to be in October.
