Hope it's the lowest league crowd of the season and I think it's about time the fans showed their disapproval of the way they are treated. The club have been aware of the situation for five weeks and have continued to deny any date swap. They cannot put the blame on anyone else for this and have shown a total disrespect to anyone who has made arrangements to attend the game. This is the first time I have felt aggrieved by IL running of the club but I will cut off my nose to spite my face and will not be attending this match.

The stadium needs turning around. If a concert was booked for the Friday, it would have to move. Simple as that.

From a Wigan RL pov, renting the ground is a good thing as IL has said on many occasions. This is the small price we have to pay but I'd rather move a game than have to fork out to repair any damage to the stadium, update systems etc etc.



Oh - and I'd consider a name change if I was you. Not really a 'true wiganer' at all are you? If you were you'd support you're town in every possible aspect be it rugby, football or tiddlywinks.

The big billboard at the bottom of Challenge Way (and presumably all the others) still shows the 12th.

Anyone travelling down from Grange over Sands? Had planned a weekend up there after the game on Friday but will need to come back sunday now, I can get the train easily enough but would help with petrol money if anybody has a spare seat in a car?

Didn’t Hull City and Hull FC both play on the same day a couple of seasons ago - one a lunchtime kick off one at around 6:30? (Or am I dreaming this up?) Admittedly I think rugby followed the football, so the argument about ‘turning around’ the stadium is rubbish it can be done (IIRC though).

Yep, Hull City played Ipswich at 12.45, and Hull FC played us in the playoff at 18.00/19.00.

Totally different though. That was a Football League game. Their is far more flexibility in the football league.

Basically on this one the club were waiting till Sky made their TV minds up. That's why it was such short notice because they only decided last week. You'd all have moaned x2 had the club moved it originally, then shifted it again to a 6:45pm Sunday Night kick off for Sky.

The club could have notified fans that "The date / time of the Salford match has not been confirmed yet", instead of announcing at the end of the Wakefield match that it was on Friday 12th August when they knew it would not be . It's not rocket sience .

As soon as they knew the date was moving they should have posted that it would be Sunday 14th with kick off time TBC. The fact that it was announced as Friday after the Wakey game when they knew it would be moving is really poor imo.

Nobody disputes that all games are subject to change. I do not have any problem with that. The problem i have with this situation is that the club knew that this game would have to change and carried on pushing the publicity for August 12th in the full knowledge that it wasn't going ahead on that date .
