It's not that simple. They'll be having to re-do all the marketing logo's for the event, stuff like that and I suspect they would rather make an announcement when all that is done, probably Monday, maybe sooner.

As far as I'm concerned, I believe Sky should choose their fixtures at three months' notice.

I understand that they want to show the most relevant games, but three months is pretty much the standard window for cheap fares/hotels being available; much later than that, and switching becomes a very pricey business. It's not fair on fans who have distances to travel.

I speak as someone lucky enough to only be a half hour drive from the stadium, so work permitting, I can normally work round the changes, but only a month's notice if you've got a fairly all-consuming job and/or quite a few personal commitments and you can very soon find clashes occuring, quickly negating any value in season tickets (as has ultimately happened to me this season).

I can understand that for a game away at France or London but in the main, I take the opposite view. Whilst I pay to attend games, I equally pay my Sky bill every month and expect the best games to be shown. You cannot predict the best games 3 months in advance.

Whilst I appreciate changes can be a pain in the for some, equally it suits plenty others. Also Sky do actually release dates on when they are going to select their games (they are on my fixture list and tv pages) so really people should know where they stand. This one was a bit unfortunate because it's Sky 3D coverage rather than Sky Sports coverage that has forced the change but it's something we perhaps have to get used to. I'm quite happy with this arrangement because I want the best games on TV.

I got 3 tickets to bring people with me, now they can't come as they're working - it's not happened to me before (must be lucky!) Can I get my ticket money back?

Not sure but I think the club would be wise to offer the money back for people in situations like yours. They surely don't want to put new fans off coming to a game before they've begun.

Unfortunately sky have the right to move any game until it reaches the cutoff date, wigan have no choice in the matter unfortunately which is a royal pain in the ass

Possitive spin from the club. We might be able to sell more tickets now that it is on a Saturday, and buy the way if you have bought a ticket expecting the game to be played on Friday and now cant attend , who gives a .

They're not even professional enough to crop the pic of Kris with the Big One logo, so you now have a story saying one date and a pic saying another. If Sky say we have to switch I don't suppose the club can do much about that, but the PR-handling by the club so far is embarrassing.

Get the old date off the website entirely, use the positive spin on the new date and actively address the concerns of fans adversely affected - do they get money back or not on tickets?

You just need to return your tickets to the ticket office and you'll be issued with a refund.

Thanks, Matt. I'm not affected but I know someone who is and I'll let them know. The club needed to say that clearly and upfront from the beginning though, so people know who's to blame and don't start (as people have here) blaming the club.

It's simple, basic PR practice and believe me, after 35 years in that kind of game, I do know what I'm talking about. Sometimes you have bad news to impart - make the best of it by being open, clear and proactive with your side of the story.

season tickets?

If you're a season ticket holder who can't attend then you can use the Season Swap scheme and notify the ticket office at least 24 hours in advance of the Huddersfield game and get a free extra ticket for a Super League home game of your choice.

Yeah we have done this, the club offered us tickets for another home game. We have season tickets so I dont see what use that is...unless we walk back out and use the free tickets.

So when you bought your season ticket at the beginning of the season you didnt know that games could be switched?

I did, but when things are announced I book other things. Like a week in France to watch wigan but will miss the HKR game due to it being moved. I thought I couldnt lose with Hudds as its advertised everywhere. Already with 2 matches missed I would be better off paying on the day than a season ticket. Any more questions?

They cant say no until after a certain cut off date. Sky obviously want the best games but have to keep it fairly even across all teams.

But the club could have requested that they remain on the Friday due to selling so many tickets and move the other game. After all we have launched a massive marketing campaign and sold over 2000 tickets.

The club can request what they want but sky can switch if they want because we have a contract with them. TV money & coverage rule super league just like they rule the premier league.

What a load of rubbish !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wasn't a big fan of the Fri night games at first & as a shift worker (i.e a WORKING man) it was a problem to get to see our mighty team. However, the "regular" Fri night games finally suited as I started working Saturday's instead & as a "season ticket holder" I always got to support our great team & we all know Sky like to dictate the fixtures but us playing on Fri to accommodate Sky's TV schedule was a blessing in disguise. The club must have spent a small fortune PROMOTING the game on the Fri so the majority of us were 100% convinced this game was taking place as advertised & PROMOTED. My brother WAS coming up from London by train on the Friday and returning Sat morning but not now
