| Quote ="Katrina"I was on about this earlier. WHY do the fans applaud the likes of Quins, Crusaders and Catalans?? The fact that they only bring a few fans is not a good enough excuse.'"
Shockingly I applauded a couple of good plays/tackles that Quins made last night. I have also been known to applaud Saints for good play, and even the odd exceptionally good try.
I don't understand why a simple "fair enough, that was a cracking play" appreciation and show of respect for what I have just been entertained entertained by is a crime in your and other's eyes. I think you are taking a very "football" view here, what next no talking to opposition fans?
Part of the enjoyment of RL is that respect, banter and friendly atmosphere. To have this a black and white view of what others can appreciate isn't going to fit very well.

Correct. I applauded Barrow off the park on Sunday as I felt they gave their all and deserved a little bit of respect for their efforts. They could easily have crumbled and had 100 put on them, but they never gave in which was summed up with the last play of the game.

Exactly. OFF the park, when the game is over and done with and we've already won. I don't understand why they're applauded onto the field before the match.

| I think Tomkins would flourish if he had a running stand off in the team. Somebody to hand around on his shoulder, it would give him another option. In Finch, Deacon and TL, they're all creative type players. Maybe Sam needs options, I know he worked very well with Gleeson on that right edge.

| He made ONE mistake all game the pat one he threw a dummy and used pat as decoy didnt work but wasnt wrong but there was one where if he had of passed we may have scored but at the end of the day what people are moaning about here is wigan having a player with the confidence to back himself to score. Wouldnt change him at all.

| Part of what makes Tomkins great is his "greed" he naturally backs himself and more often than not he gets it right, the balance is not quite there yet in his game regarding his decision making but I will take him how he is now as that part of his game is only going to get better.
If he starts passing on the 50/50 plays naturally then I would be concerned as I think other aspects of his game would suffer.
Regards clapping, I will clap any team on to the pitch. I am a rugby league fan over and above a Wigan fan. I have nothing but respect for every player that steps on to the field knowing the work that goes into it and the physical ordeal they are about to go through.
I will also clap any good plays, again because I love good rugby league and the skills that it requires regardless of the colour of shirt of the player performing them.

| I agree that Sam was a bit greedy at times last night but he's still making unbelievable breaks and is a constant threat to the other team, he's still very young remember.
As for the booing of Pryce, digraceful, I hope he never comes back and I never want to see him play for Wigan again BUT he's still a Wigan player, its like booing one of our own.

Correct, I think clapping the other team onto the pitch (apart from Saints Wire and Leeds) is quite classy, the kop always clap the other teams goalkeeper onto the pitch regardless of who it is, its called respect.

Your right it's called respect, even the 3 teams you've mentioned I know my dad has always commented to say if it's a good try or a tough conversion. If it's been a very hard physical game I will clap the other team off the field, like I did in the good friday fixture, games like that every single play deserves respect. It's not a matter of being a happy clapper, it's showing it's not just all about Wigan.

| I'll clap the opposition on, it's a mark of respect for men who are putting their bodies on the line in the name of simple entertainment, I'll include Saints, Wire and Leeds in that.
For my own team standing ovation.
I'll applaud good opposition play such as Catalan put in against us. A rugby League fan.
Leave the childish disrespectful crowd behaviour for the football side.

Spot on. Apart from general principles, I have to say Quins got the sympathy vote from me last night as well, in that they appeared to have brought only one man with them and even then he'd left his dog behind.

| Truly some of the worst fans in the league for moaning and whinging. Some of the people sat round me, spend 80 minutes waiting for a mistake to happen, just so they can stand up and slate someone. Home games actually irritate me now, because of some of our supporters, and then its the same on here! Jesus.
We put 54 past a team. We are joint top on points. With a game in hand. Be happy.

| All great attacking players in every team sport need that bit of greed. Sam is our best weapon in attack IMO. He definately wasn't man of the match last night though. McIlorum and Mossop just to name 2 where head and shoulders above him IMO

I still remember standing at CP applauding quality tries scored by the opposition. It's a sign of respect, and appreciation of the skills of the players taking part in the toughest sport in the world.
I noticed when Quins came back out for the 2nd half there were only a few around me applauded them onto the pitch and I was very disappointed. Quins put in some belting tackles last night and I found myself saying "good tackle" when they did.
This isn't football - we respect our opponents and have the maturity to appreciate excellent play when we see it. I probably won't applaud Saints because there's too much at stake. I probably won't applaud Wire or Leeds because I can't stand them. Any other team I'm happy to show respect and appreciate what they put on show.
As for Sam - a brilliant player but needs to release the ball a little more. The key to a dummy & step is not to do it all the time. The opposition will know he's likely to take it himself and that could nullify his threat.
