I certainly wasn't trying to make anybody sick , just trying to see, with Gleeson gone and possibly Carmont going at the end of the season, what peoples opinions were!
With the NRL increasing the cap over in Aus, the chances of affording a top class centre from over there look increasingly slim, I'm all in favour of giving our youngsters a chance but we are going to be short staffed in the centres next season, (IMO of course).

| Interesting. If he loved the game of rugby as much as he loves himself then yes i would sign him without any hessitation. Henson when bothered one of the best centres in union but that happens once in a while. Remids me greatly of Simon Haughton both when young were exceptional talent doing something they did not really enjoy.
For him now he will either retire or go to League i would not discount him going to any SL side who have cap space as he has burnt too many bridges in France, England or even Wales for any club to touch him now. Gareth Thomas has shown waht a player from union can do in League if they want to play the game. Henson could be a masterstroke or the worst signing a team will do.
Dont understimate how good Henson could be, he comes over as arrogant etc. Problems he has is insecurity which is well documented in his past.
Would he be worse then Dennis Moran, David Vaeliki tbh i think he would be a lot better than either of those if he got his head screwed on and time away from union would do him some good, especially lack of pressure from the Cardiff and London media as Gareth Thomas has donw when he came out.

| I'd rather us go back to Sale and resign Thornley, my brother-in-law's a season ticket holder and said he's played 3/4 times this season.
Powell I think would be more interesting if he's released by Wasps, I know he's maybe a liability with his fondness for the ale but perhaps in a less poncey environment he'd do better? Plus he's a big lad and has good basic skills, could be handy at prop?
Also what about taking Flanagan back from West Tigers? Don't think he's made an appearance yet this year.

| Theres no doubting his rugby ability and if he was to change his current ways then i would say take a chance on him.But as it stands hes more concerned with making cringe-worthy adverts and appearing in the paper than playing rugby.

| Quote ="Cruncher"He's the sort of player Leeds would have bought back in the 90s.
They'd have paid a fortune for him, courted publicity from the world's sporting press for the best part of a month, and then, ignoring advice that it was going to take him at least a year (by which time he'd be in his 30s) to reach an adequate standard, they'd pitch him straight into a very tough match, expecting great things, only to see the opposition drop him on his head in the first minute and kill any further interest he might have in a game as tough as Rugby League.
He would then quietly withdraw from view, a lot richer, and Leeds would hardly ever mention the incident again, their fans preferring to talk about how Wigan's era of dominance was due entirely to colossal and ill-advised expenditure on overseas players.'"
Aaaaaah John Gallagher what an inspired signing for Leeds!

| We just don't need to take an unnecessary risk with any signings in my opinion, with the salary cap being so tight any signing is a risk, so I see no reason to sign somebody who is more of a risk than your average RL player.

Falanagan has made a brief appearance in one game I do believe but Wests have a ton of injuries so i wouldn't be surprised if hes called on soon, he does seem surplus to requirement over there though sadly.

| Why would he come to RL and work hard, when he can stay in union, do eff all and retain his pretty boy looks?
He's rubbish anyway. Only reason anyone knows who he is, is because he put Charlotte Church up the duff. Twice.

Being naked next to a dog is an experience not wholly unfamiliar to him. Refer to my previous post for why.

Don't really agree with that, to be honest. GOing off his interview performances on Strictly Come Dancing he just comes across that incredibly thick and devoid of any personality whatsoever.
He's one of those who evidently got a load of attention and got bulled up by everyone when he was a lad, purely because of what he looks like. Because of this, he's believed his own hype, and thinks he's owed what everyone said he was going to be, and because of this, he's not bothered to develop a personality or any form of intelligence whatsoever.
Think a male version of Jessica Simpson, and you're not far off.

| I can't believe you people!
Henson is exactly the type of person who could bring a bit of showbiz razzamataz to your frankly uninspiring area, and allow you to maybe move away from your "hicks in the sticks" tag.
Fake tan and gelled hair? The local ladies would love him! Let's face it, that's got to be a better option than the pasty faced, bad hair day that they usually get to see in the town centre on a Saturday night.
And when Tomkins junior departs downunder, you'll be needing someone that the rest of SL can take the p1ss out off.....and Gavin is tailor made for that role!
Defo a win/win situation. A coachload of gelled up orange tanned Wigooners arriving at Headingley brandishing their bog brushes would be a sight to behold!
I look forward to the day!
