| In regards to Marsh, I was just basing his performance tonight on his previous first team performances, thought he was much improved.

Yes but like I said before we have a lot of new faces in our camp we need matches and time to gel, we also had 4 major players out for us which would of helped us dramatically, even a full strength Salford side would of had to play well to beat the Champions so without them we did even better.

5 days is enough isn't it? And come on you only played Salford you should of murdered us? Saints and Crusaders did why did you fail? The Super League trophy will be heading out of the DW in October there are 2 maybe 3 other teams better than Wigan this year. Huddersfield, Warrington, Saints.

| Quote ="Cherry.Pie"I was going to say the opposite. I think he looks like he's got a lot of work to do to make it at this level. He just seems to slip off tackles far too easily and never passes the ball. The only time he looked dangerous was when he just had to keep hold of the ball and sprint.'"
The lads a winger without doubt for me. He just never lifts his head whilst in possession and his first up tackling isn't strong enough. I trust Maguire and Wanes judgement fully and they obviously see something in him but he's had a slow start to his first team career and he'll need to improve an awful lot if he's going to hold down that right centre spot.
As for the game tonight it was a case of job done. We weren't great by any stretch but a wins a win and we move on. The fact that we could win a game tonight pretty easily whilst playing nowhere near our best shows the problems we face when it comes to competing with sides like St George. We aren't pushed hard enough week in week out to be forced into getting all the 'little basics' right.

May I ask how are we being arrogant? By stating that we didnt play well, which we didnt. And neither did you. But if as a Salford fan you want to be pleased with that performance then go ahead, it will get you nowhere.

| Quote ="MattyB"Agreed. Thought he was very poor again tonight.
No wonder Goudling kept coming in from the wing, when you have Marsh as your centre you ain't gonna see the ball.
Didn't pass one ball all night.'"
True - but I think that's at least partly because he used to beat people for fun at U20s level, and hasn't adapted to the better defenses in SL. He'll learn, just needs some more 1st team games under his belt (and may get an extended spell now...?)
Most of our players had their faults tonight, don't think it's fair to single out Marsh.
I didn't think Salford were all that bad, actually. Their kicking game was far better than ours, and they showed quite a lot of individual skill, they just don't seem to play as a team. If some of those half breaks they made had been better supported, they could have made things a lot harder for us.

Is he a young lad? He looked like he could have a big future.

But you have the backup we don't, we had Bailey, Anderson, Holdsworth, Boyle out, and Ratchford went off in the first half, they were covered by Marc Sneyd a 19 year old kid Adam Neal a 20 year old lad and Jack Spencer 20 also none have had a lot of experience in SL where as your back up have all played in big games and won trophies, that’s the difference.

Yes being backed up by current internationals who have bags of experience, it’s like with any good team (saints) (leeds) (wire) you can afford to put kids in and do ok but teams like us who have a thin squad we really struggle with even one of two players out never mind 5.

No credit from me except for Rachford and Patten. You droppped the ball about 90% of the time when you had a good opportunity. A stronger team would have beaten us well tonight, us on top form would have blown you off the park completely. I was much more impressed with you last year than I was tonight.'"
Amazing!!!! Just how arrogant you Wigan fans have become all of a sudden. You don't think Cashmere played well? He was immense tonight, took it up all night long, made the hard yards and some fantastic off loads. Adamson played well tonight, except getting rather unceremoniously dumped on his ass. Wild and Sneyd had a really good games, and Godwin gave a good performance.
Granted, some of our execution on your line was poor, but Salford never stopped coming allnight and should be reaaly proud of that effort. Especially, when you consider where we were a couple of weeks ago. Anyone outside the top 3/4 teams in super league would have been put to the sword tonight.
Can't believe I'm saying this, but, due to tyour arrogance, I'd rather St Helens or Warrington take the super league title ahead of you this year. I like Wigan and hate the other two teams with a passion, but some of you lot need to learn a little humility.
Good game tonight and you deserved the win, but if we'd been a little more clinical you'd have been on the receiving end of a loss tonight.

Wigan Warriors is all the town of Wigan have to be arrogant about, but in theory you’re the Champions of the smallest major sport in the country not exactly on par with Man U RL fans can’t afford to be arrogant because apart from other RL fans no one else in the country gives a hoot about RL or Wigan RLFC.

| Arrogant because I dont think Salford had a good game (and also admit that we didnt either, so I think they need to look up the word 'arrogant' )
If Salford fans think that was a good performance it goes to show how sh*t they actually are.

At schoolboy/junior level, 9. Hansen's a Salford lad and Mossop's from Whitehaven. Deacon's a Wigan lad, too, but I didn't count him.

Does that really matter? The majority of the youngsters are from the Wigan area but if the club are sending scouts to Cumbria/Yorkshire etc and finding talented youngsters it can only be a good thing. We could just sign a dozen has beens and have a crap youth team instead.

| Quote ="19 Leagues"=#FF0000Was disappointed with our performance tonight.
Expectd a tough game but to be honest Salford were terrible tonight the only thing that kept them in the game was their kicking game, and a bit of magic from Luke Patten.
Our kicking game is just simply crap, needs to be sorted out. And our goal line defence was poor, but not too worried about that because its usually excellent and after a hard week its inevitable that we would let in some soft trys.
=#FF0000Best thing for me about the match was Stefan Marsh, ive been his biggest critic for his first team performances so far but today he really showed what he could do, hes got great speed. And with all the rumours we may be seeing alot more of him.
=#FF0000Hopefully the bad performance today was down to everything thats allegedly going on and the short turn around from such a brutal encounter last week. A nice week or so till the next game will do us the world of good.'"
This is the most ludicrous post I've ever seen, disappointed in our performance are you blind? What did you expect?
Stefan Marsh wasn't impressive imo, he made one break.
I and every Wigan fan I spoke to after the game had a smile on their face and was happy with what the lads produced tonight, considering last Sunday's physical game and the injuries we've got. I'm 100% happy with what we're being treated to as fans in 2010 and now in 2011.
