and to whoever mentioned the charity shield for rugby, i think it would be a great idea, as i mentioned in recent discussion with martin offiah, who mentioned he was going to try and push it through with sky.

Everyone should see that this is more important than whether Wire were lenient with the truth and call themselves "Champions" They can call themselves what they want if it means that Help For Heroes are getting money. A friend of mine was shot in Afghan this year and had his leg shattered after much rehabilitation he is going back out for a second tour next year. He will have benefitted in some way from Help For Heroes and I think it is a worthy cause and frankly makes these arguments insignificant.

Get down there and support these great charities because someone you know might need what they provide.

Champions denote the overall winners of a competition, Winners denotes the winners of a single game. Its easy to understand !!

i emailed the rfl with this idea but they never replied but im sure if enough fans do they will give it some serious thought all the gate takings going to a couple of charities

Look everyone. Wire are "Champions" just not THE Champions.

I can sort of understand both sides. In the years Utd won the League and Liverpool won the Cup then Utd were always considered "The Champions" its just how it works. But both teams ARE "Champions" just of different things.

Wire ARE Champions just not the most important kind. To be fair I think the RFL class the cup lower so Sky can show "THE Champions" being crowned, simple as really.


I do however have to say that certain Wire fans need to get a sense of humour coz this topic was clearly meant in jest lol.
