Yes, but not as well.

Full Back and Stand Off are probably his best positions. Biggest strength is his cut out passing really.

EDIT: Just checked his stats on the SL website, can't believe he only played 6 matches this year (5 when you can't he missed the second half of two of thse through injury). Even with this and a couple of poor games by his standards, on average he was still getting 2 tries, 2 assists every 3 games, a clean break every match, 1.5 tackles busts and just over 100m a match.

I'd still say he's above the "average" label many give him, just behind better players and isn't somebody we need.

Quite sad to see Cam go as he was a genuinely nice bloke and a good clubman but as others have said he was never going to get a place in our starting 17 when everyone is fit so he would have been a wasted quota spot really. I think he'll do well at another SL club should he decide to stay in England. He'd walk into plenty of teams here and instantly improve them

Loads of rumours fly about on these boards, don't take it personally. I find the best policy is to treat anything with suspicion until confirmed by the club. Otherwise I'd be thinking the WCC is at the Reebok, Roberts is off home, Slater is on his way and we're playing Saints at Knowsley road on boxing day.

Not sure about the WCC, Amos and 'Billy the Kid' but i'm pretty certain that Saints were trying to line up a few friendlies before they close the gates once and for all - a close friend whose company do work for them said they had the safety certificate to stage a few more matches before the big send off and they desperately wanted one last chance to win the last derby at KR before it's turned into a housing estate! Suppose the only thing we'd need to see is whether that fit in with Mags and IL's plans for preseason.

Who with? Melling moving back there? My initial thought was Quins as short of FB with BJB going back to Leeds. If Quins can get some money for first team they'll be quite an attractive option to players / coaches as they ill have near enough a clean slate (& few quota spots) to work with!

He was a good standard when he arrived but has been overtaken by better players coming into the squad and quality younger players coming through.
Tough on Phelps, best of luck to him though.

Roberts was seen in Wigan with his family just a few days ago.

Pretty good, I've had thought - he won't command a massive salary, judging by the lack of interest from other clubs.

He does count on the quota though, where are you up to with your quota?

Melling is an option, it's not too long ago that he played full-back for GB.



But Luke Dorn will probably be our full-back next season, 99% of QuinsRL fans would agree that it's his best position.

Not too sure to be honest mate, we have Temata, Howell, Dorn & Randall, plus our 2 new signings Bailey and Kouparitsas.

But I think Temata and Dorn no longer count.

IIRC phelps played hooker during a game for us and i think he was knocked out whilst playing that possition,

Best of look to him where ever he ends up. Gave his all when ever he played for us and that's all you can ask. Fully in agreement with everyone for the reasons for his departure, although I bet Baked Bean Boogie ain't to pleased with this news.

He deserved a new contract just for being nice

It's a new era at Wigan and Cam falls into a similar bracket to Feka and Bails; great clubmen who have been surpassed by others at the club. That shouldn't detract from their contribution during their time here. Each brought a passion to the shirt that can only be applauded. Good luck to all of them, along with a sincere hope that they enjoyed their time representing our great club.

Possibly, I just recall Peter Gill on his debut against Wigan back in the day getting mullered everytime he took it up,

I think he had only just got off the plane and the broncos didnt have enough players so he had to play and stay on, poor lad.

He was also a legend he kept playing and he looked about 60 and had massive ears!
