Seems the police operation + the fact Wigan & Saints fans can behave led to this:
Quote WARRIORS fans have been praised for their good behaviour during the Super League Grand Final.
Around 70,000 fans attended Old Trafford on Saturday to watch the final between Wigan and Saints.
Eight supporters were arrested for offences, such as drunken disorderly and public order, and around 15 people were ejected from the stadium.
But for a fixture of that magnitude, police say that that was an excellent result and praised both sets of supporters.
=#0000FFSupt John Graves of Greater Manchester Police said: “The atmosphere yesterday was the best we have experienced when policing the Grand Final.
“The vast majority of fans responded very well to the restrictions in place, particularly in relation to alcohol, and there was minimal disorder.
“This led to a warm and friendly atmosphere both in the run-up to the game and afterwards, which made the whole day enjoyable.
“I hope the fans enjoyed the match and everything else laid on for them.
”We look forward to welcoming them back next year.”'"
