Another one here Andy - thanks for the info, was a great help. Took that route there and back, and parked up on St Chads as mentioned. No problems at all getting out of town afterwards, even with all the other Wigan fans that seemingly took your tip using that route! Plenty of speed cameras along the way to look out for, so not ideal if you've got a heavy right foot, mind.

I assume the closure is to finish the demolition of that bridge, which had already been shifted from one half of the road, but not the other?
