Mason is a huge signing for Hull KR and SL IMO.

I really can't wait for next season to see Mason go up against players like Fielden, Graham, Morley, Peacock etc. He's gonna run his mouth, but IMO he can back it up and I'll certainly be tuning in 2 see him play.

Personality is something that is lacking in SL at the moment and Mason has it in abundance.

Very good signing for Hull KR as it proves they can now attract the biggest names. Hopefully this is the first step 2 Hull KR fullfilling thier massive potential.

I'm struggling because the thing they're lacking, and their fans felt they were desperately lacking prior to Finch signing for us was another quality halfback to work with Dobson so that they're more difficult to shut down.

The could go and sign the world best winger, but it won't do them much good if they've got problems elsewhere - which I was led to believe they were both from my own observations, and their own fan's comment.

I think Fielden moving to Crusaders would be the worst decison he could possibly make...

As far as Mason goes, it is a slightly different signing than the overseas players we've signed before with the likes of Newton, Galea, Clinton, Dobson etc. proving to be excellent signings even though they are less high profile names.

On the playing side of things; he's still only 30yrs old, not missed a game all season for the Cowboys, is in the NRL top-six for both metres gained and tackle busts so he'll still playing very well.

Commercially it is a massive signing for the club and one that will help us kick on back into the top-four no doubt next season.

For too long we've had several players no where near the pitch such as Cooke & Walker both in excess of 100k a piece so in that respect Mason's wages would be to good use.

hope it works out for KR but I'd be amazed if Mason is still in SL for 2012.

He will put bums on seats/feet on the terraces at hull kr i reckon they have only got to sell an extra 1000 season tickets to re-coup his wages.

I think we're really lacking at hooker.

That second row is the best in the league, and by some distance too imo.

You only have to look at the players not starting - Hansen + Farrell who'd walk in most of the other teams in the league.

Plus we have the best 13 in the league - Sean O'loughlin.

Some monster packs next season. I think we'll see a return of the biff for sure!

I think the difference between us and other teams (in the forwards) is our bench & squad depth. We have Lee Mossop, Harrison Hansen, Liam Farrell, Chris Tuson, Jeff Lima, Paul Prescott, Eamon O'carroll, Ben Davies & one of Thomas Leuluai/Mike McIlorum all competing for bench spots. I don't think the same can be said for some of the other sides.

Add that into our backs have been the best this year (by virtue of scoring the most points).

On paper Saints pack looks huge, but their backs look a lot weaker than previous years with the loss of Gidley + Wellens being another year older. Some quality kids coming through though, Lomax really impressed me last night.

Leeds look weaker with losing Senior and Donald.

Wire will be just as strong probably, still to be seen how Hodgson does there but I think them or Saints will be our main challengers.

EDIT: I take it back! Just seen Saints have been top points scorers! There goes all my theories! ha.
