Ganson is off the pace since his return from injury.
He was poor in the Wakey v Hull game and was no better tonight.
Whether it his fitness or confidence in decision making I don't know but he's got some way to go to get back to his best.
His decision on the Ablett incident was very poor by his standards.
Can't remember the last time I saw Ganson bottle it but he did on that occasion.

The Ablett incident for me was down to the touchy bottling it not Ganson.

I guess the general feeling is that he didn't score the try, I thought not, but hey we won and that's that.

I also watched it frame by frame and he did not ground that ball.

I know some are always sick of the decision being handed to the video referee, but if it help's get the call right everytime then I'm all for it, particularly in big games like tonight.

I agree I simply cannot understand when people moan about the video ref and the time it takes, surely it is better to get the right call even if it takes a little longer.

The Aussies slate Russell Smith when he is the video ref for taking a minute to make a call.

If we have the technology lets check it and get it right.

jonh you say he got all the knock ons right and stuff but just from memory he gave a knock on against Tuson which clearly went backwards and missed a blatant forward pass by them which they could have scored from. Along with the fact that Clarkson didn't score, Coley was unfairly sinbinned, he bottled sending Ablett off and Goulding knocked on before we scored I think you're way off the mark with 6/10 and if there's any worse reffing than that this weekend I.d be very surprised.

To me 60% is not a good standard but it is not a crap one either. I appreciate he came up with a few bad errors, but for me the only one he can be fully held accountable for wad the Coley hit on Burrows, the rest of them, is the forward pass, knock on and the Tomkins incident he should have been advised by hit touch judges who were far closer to the incidents with a better view.

fair point. Incidentally just seen the Clarkson try again and think the video ref would probably have given it, benefit of the doubt at least. Sinfield caught Tuson square on the chin though in the build up raising his forearm before offloading.

Post the screenshot up, then the Leeds fans can debate about white lines, perspective, fingertip control, and all the usual sh*t they peddle.

it's taken a hell of alot of playing with the pause button to get to a shot that shows there was a clear gap between the ball and Clarksons forearm. However even if it had have gone to VR I think it would have been given anyway. Thought I saw an obstruction in the build up that the VR could have ruled on but the cameras didn't seem to pick up on this watching the highlights.

Honestly, why do all of you care this much? You won the game fare and square and that should be the last of it. Had this try won the game for Leeds obviously it would be a different story but I can't see the point in moaning about it now.

I think people are complaining because it's illustrative of a general attitude to Wigan by refs this season. The same thing has happened a few times this season and this attitude has really shown up in the 2 Leeds games (last night and CC). For example, can anyone honestly say Wigan should have had two players sent off in consecutive matches gainst Leeds when Ablett stays on the field for one of the most cowardly forearm assaults seen on a rugby pitch?

If these type of incidents are not commented on, regardless of whether the contribute to the eventual result or not, then they will continue to happen. Scrutiny is the only thing that keeps people on their toes!

As an aside, are you suggesting we should only complain about refs when we lose? I can just see the outpouring of vitriol by opposition fans on these boards if that was the case!

Ganson couldn't wait to blow the whistle and give the try which amused me after the way he went to the screen as quickly as he possibly could to see if there was anything wrong with our trys.

Not a8sed as it doesn't matter but it just makes me smile the way games are reffed at Headingley.
