and Maguire has made an impressive impact on SL. I think there maybe some interesting turns ahead and think that any side in the top 4 can beat each other on their day.

Don't give a cr@p about the playoffs mate. Seriously I don't. The playoffs are just giving mediocre mid table teams a 2nd chance when 9 months of RL has already ready proved they are not good enough. Under the current fixture format I have no doubt Wigan are the best should they win the league. I'm not letting cr@ppy incompentant referees in one off games cloud my judgement.
The bottom can beat the top of their day. It means nowt. Its a line trotted out by fans of average teams. If Wire won the league, it would be them who where the best - and i would acknowledge that.

I happen to agree. I think the league leaders should be rightly crowned as the true champions. Play offs do add that extra excitement but i would prefer it if
they were ranked as the old premiership was before SL.

League leaders are (in my opinion) the champions .
Take the last three years . We (Rhinos) were champs last year , and last year only .
If they are going to allow the top eight out of fourteen teams into the play-offs , they might as well let the other six in and just have it as an end of season SL knockout tournament .

Totally agree with that comment.

I just every team in the comp would rather be champions by finishing top rather than winning the GF. The week after week slog makes you feel more deserving of the Championship.
Re: Leeds in the past 3 years, i will defend the Rhinos and say that prior to 2009 we had a completely unbalanced and unfair fixture list. For e.g a few years ago Wigan awere utter turd and Saints got the luxury of playing us 4 times per season, whereas, yourselves, Leeds had to play a top of the league chasing Bradford. Hardly fair on Leeds? In them seasons, a playoff was fair enough.

Also, Wire, it wouldn't seem right if they were called Champions this season if they don't finish top. This is not having a go at Wire, but how can you be Champions if you have potentially not finished top of the league for 30-odd years? That would not feel right to the Wire fans, or to myself if it was Wigan.

I do agree with the above but the big prize is the GF. Most people i guess would prefer the competition set up prior to SL but like it or loath it that's the way it
is. The number one side for the 2010 season will be judged to be the winner of the grand final.

Seems not right that you could win the Double and not finish top the league!
Challenge Cup and finshing top would be the right and proper double. The GF to me just seems like the old Premiership playoffs. No big deal really no matter how Sky build it up.

Dougy having told the Skints in the last few years that the hub cap doesnt mean much we shouldnt change our mind now. We need to win the GF to prove we are top of the pile.

I dont think we would get the plate if we win our next two games as i think we will be presented with it at our last home game of the season which sky will proberley show.

Sky will only show the game if something hinges on it. If the plate is won they'll just show it on BnA.
