Well most SL fans seem to think we aren't up to SL (squad/ground/no. of fans etc) so on that basis we don't really deserve our franchise do we?

Well I agree on the first point to be honest, nothing against Salfords fans but right now Widnes as a club deserve to be in IMO.

I have a feeling you could upset us. The drum will be there though.

If you're basing your franchises on history then yes Widnes are a much bigger club than Salford (although I am led to believe that we had a fairly handy team back in the 70's

). I was brought up on the Salford team of the late 80's/early 90's and Widnes were a fantastic team back then. However, since SL I think we've justified our place in SL more than the likes of Fax/Widnes & Leigh.

As much as I dislike the scousers I'd also like to see Widnes in SL but can't say they justified it after the financial "issues" that have dogged them over the last few years. Personally, I'd expand SL to 15 teams which would allow one of the traditional RL teams back in.

And regarding beating you? Nah, can't see it myself but if we can reproduce the performance against Hudds then we should have a decent fame on our hands.

Charlton, Fielding, Hesketh, Richards, Watkins, Coulman, Dixon, Burgess etc all played for Salford.
But guess what, they were all bought in by your then chairman Brian Snape.

I never heard any cr@p then about it being unfair on other teams because they couldn't match Salfords spending.

After being in Italy for 2 weeks (and missing the Leeds/Stains/Wakey games) I am really looking forward to this match. I sent the wife to the ticket office for me and the 3 lads today and she was told we had to get the 12 year olds free ticket from Salford - anyone know why this is?

if he is a season ticket holder he just needs to produce his voucher at the turnstiles. If he isn't a season ticket holder you have to buy concessions tickets beforehand as concessions cant pay at the turnstiles - but as you say free ticket I presume he as a junior season ticket- hope this helps.

I reckon Salford's fans are the friendliest i've come across and haven't got a bad word to say about either of them.
