When we first came to the JJB any game against London / Halifax / Huddersfield / Salford etc. was a regular 4 figure crowd!

thats a fair point kevl84 but my point is not just about going to wembley,its about the peolpe of this town(not all of them ) having no pride in where they come from,and then the ones that do show a bit of local pride by supporting their local teams,constantly bitch at each other over who has the biggest crowds.

Wait a second...if you brought to Craven Park the amount of fans we brought to yours last night you would fill the temporary seated stand at the North end of our ground. However you are lucky to fill two sections of it when you and most other teams come.

So before you start saying we brought a poor following on a cold wet Friday night for a game that was on Sky you might want to get your own house in order first. As pointed out you had about 40 away fans the previous week and still got a bigger attendance.

I only wish Craven Park could fit 12.5k in it and do it regularly so to be disapointed about that amount is remarkable. But then to say we brought poor numbers is a very weak statement and unless you can sell more than 1500 tickets to come over to East Yorkshire on what will probably be a Sunday afternoon then I'd suggest you dont complain about our travelling support.

I think the point people are making is that Rovers' support was 'poor' in comparison to previous years when it has been fantastic in numbers and noise. It was quite good compared to the numbers other clubs bring.

As for the comment about us not selling out your away stand, there is usually sections reserved for home fans, as per both games last season.

Threads like this exist purley to massage the egos of the people who went to the game. There are zillions of reasons why people did not attend and each one of them is a personal reason.

It is always better when the stadium is full but ulimately who care if the attendance was down on last year?

For the record i was there, but i do not feel that that makes me "superior" to any of the lads i know who watched it on the telly or indeed missed it totaly because of other comitments.

all this crap about wiganers being tight fisted is a load of old tosh also. This is a working class town and a lot of people i know are struggling at the momment, this includes people who were on a high wage over the last few years.

As an away fan deciding to go to a game, I would much rather go to the DW than to craven park. Its a naff ground, I know so many people who don't go just because of the ground.

12.5k is very disapointing when a few seasons ago we averaged 16,000.

To be honest we should be more forgiving of Hull KR (and Hull) who would need to book half a day of work on Friday to ensure getting here in good time.

Yes their 800-900 was not up to the standard they set a couple of seasons ago when they brought a good 3500+ but it was still decent, however there are other Yorkshire teams like Huddersfield that travelling fans don't warrant opening the North Stand, I mean come on...Huddersfield is only on the other side of Oldham - less than an hour to Wigan easy.

Regardless of the away support, we should be averaging at least 13-14k of our own fans every week. Only 11k turned up on Friday and that's just not good enough really. Just because it was on the TV. KR did well to bring so many on a Friday night. It's such a long way to come in one evening.

tuggles,wiganers are tight its a fact,i know a lot of people are struggling but 11500 is a poor effort,if the football team had 11500 home fans turn out ,certain posters on here would be slaughtering them,as are posters on certain latics sites slaughtering warriors crowd on friday,the point im trying to make is that all the name calling between both sets of fans is pointless,dead ended,and probbably does both clubs harm in the long run by alienating people who might chose to watch both teams from time to time.
