In hospital with my young lad and his ropey liver sadly.
This has made me a little more upbeat though i have to say. Final piece of the jigsaw for me. With this appoitment i see no reason why we should not challenge for honours
I am aware of him and his methods and extrenly impressed with what i have seen and heard, although never knew hw was a wiganer
I did nit go fir his job either Jtb, so he is all good with me lol.
What i do like is the fact he will be familliar with Pryce and has bags of experience working with big athletes.
Sorry if this post is a mess typing it off my phone cant check it..
I am aware of him and his methods

Agreed with both you and Cruncher. So far the appointments made, you have to say, look like excellent appointments. I appreciate we will only be able to say so once the season commences and these guys are put into action but in each case I struggle to find someone else more suitable for each position, that is also available. Especially in this instance, as for a Rugby League Strength and Conditioning coach, will there be many (certainly in Super League) who have the qualifications, the reputation (from an article posted earlier in the thread) and the nine years expertise at the highest level in numerous other sports? I highly doubt it and I could apply the same logic to Michael MaGuire and Shaun Wane.

| Seems like the guy has all the experience we’ve been asking for. He’s certainly worked with some top RU teams and gained valuable knowledge in football and the NFL. I wonder if he was at Bolton when big Sam was there as Sam was known for experimenting with new fitness regimes and thinking outside of the box.

The only SLIGHT reservation I have on the guy is his time at Gloucester who imo are major underachievers (prob not his fault btw) and a club I’ve always associated with the miss handling of Pryce’s foot injury. I know Pryce IL & Noble have all gone on record questioning the professional advice that was given to Pryce after his injury and blamed a lot of the setbacks on that poor advice as well.'"
Like you say Lenegan did question Pryce's treatment by Gloucester but you would hope that Ian hasn't got that short a memory and that the Pryce debacle had nothing to do with are new S & C coach.

He wasn't at Gloucester when Pryce was there so no worries on that score.
Remember Karl's had two glorious years with us.

| Don't start saying he was in charge of Karl Pryces fitness at Gloucester that's almost as bad as saying he was Michael Barrymores pool boy or night watchman on the titanic.

I'm sure that not only would it have been brought up in the interview and questions asked about it but I’m also positive that IL will have spoken to Henry Paul about the guy as well. Although Henry won’t have been there when he our new guy was I’m sure he’s still in contact with some of the players who still play there.
On a side note if this is anything to go by (dismiss the toff comments btw) it’s a mixed bag of opinions from the Gloucester fans;

Mark signed with Gloucester in July 10th 2008. [urlhttp://www.glasgowwarriors.com/articles/news/005158.php[/url
Karl Pryce signed with us 18th December 2007. [urlhttp://www.wiganwarriors.com/News_full.asp?newsid=3486[/url
So you are right and we can put that one to bed.

| he was not the conditioner at glouscester he was overseeing sports science. The guy that had direct contact with the team was a very arrogant annoying little kiwi who hated all things rugby league.
Had a few chats with him regards Pryce and all he did was slate him even prior to taking a session with him. He was the bloke responsible for mistreating Pryce not our new man.

Remember that, but wasn't it the medical advice that was questioned by Wigan? It wasn't necessarily anything to do with the strength and fitness guys.

Gloucester are in the sh/t anyway so I'm not surprised by there reaction if I were in there position I'd be looking for a scape goat to.
Either way he's with us now and I'm confident that McGuire and the rest of the team will have done there homework and got the right man, everything is lead by the man at the top which in are case is McGuire and with his background I don't think we'll have picked a dud.

I'd like him to tone up but lose some of that excess weight he's got on him as well.
His mobility is being hampered by the excess weight imo and if he could start to look like he did when he first came over here I really think we’d have one of the top four props in the league.

That's a physical impossibility, but it looks good for the newspaper, or excited fans thinking it will be what happens to Feka .
He seems like a good acquisition.
