The france team were a good team. We were all over the place in defence, I really wonder what Tony Smith has been doing with the team, how have we gone backwards in one whole year?

McGuire, Moore and Westwood out for me next week with Sam,Crabtree and Carvell coming in.

We have to play the biggest pack possible because our backs are terrible.

To me France were ten times worse than PNG were last year. PNG gave their all, France were dire second half and let England off the hook more than England getting themselves off the hook.

if France had a "bench" they would have won. Their forwards dominated but eventually ran out of steam.

His inclusion due to him being able to lead a side around the field was far from justified but he saved his skin with a good try just after the break to change the course of the game.

Myler isn't an organiser, he's an individual player that makes breaks and scores trys just like Sam Tomkins but Smith felt the need to justify his selection by making out he can lead a side around the field.

He should keep his place next week imo but possibly alongside Tomkins because McGuire was woeful.

But seriously. I don't think anybody is giving the French enough credit. OK they fell away in the 2nd half but their invention, speed and forward play in the 1st half was excellent. More strength from the bench (and lots more composure) would make them a decent outfit. I hope they can keep playing with the pride that they obviously have, when they face the Kiwis and Australia.

Only thing i did not enjoy about last nights game was the Mexican wave that was going round for about 10 min while the game was still going on i thought it was disrespectful to the players from both sides.

I thought the French played well for most of the first half but fell away towards the end. And in the second half they tried some expansive play that did not work out.

England on the other hand were all at sea in the first half but tightened up there defense in the second. Which in turn put them on the front foot and they looked a better side i hope Myler is Ok very bad tackle on him but dont think there was any real intent in it and the player that did it looked very concerned for Myler.

Only real conclusion i can come to is think the French will gain a lot of confidence from the competition but will finish bottom. And on the other hand if England dont step up at least 2 gears we will be 3rd bay a long way.

Does anybody know what happened with the French national anthem? I thought that looked very unprofessional.

Ben Westwood should not play next week and neither should Scott Moore.

Kyle Eastmond didn't have enough time to make an impact. A waste of a substitution. Can he play at nine?

The selection of Moore ahead of Diskin proves again that Smith is clueless.
If Kane Bentley can run us ragged for 40 mins it doesn't bare thinking about as to what Cameron Smith will do for 80.

England won because the French were woeful in the 2nd half.
We need changes, as has been said we need another 9.
McGuire wasn't seen all night.
Westwood was awful and all our forwards need to improve their handling of the ball.
The best change though would be a new coach and that ain't going to happen.

In reply to the anthem question, did you see last weeks. The singer finished a minute before the band. If we must play anthems and are trying to attract crowds, could we please try and be a bit more professional instead of being a laughing stock. It`s bloody toe curling! You rarely see this at other major sporting events.

They started to play it and the singer started to sing and after about 30 seconds the PA man turned up the PA very unprofessional.
