Alot of Saints fans I know didnt go because they thought they were going to lose.

Poor crowd for a GF, but a helluva lot of positives from the spectical itself.

To be fair you always get glory hunters that go to finals and if your team lose they are the ones that tend to walk out first. Unfrotunately we are not in a position to call anyone on this subject.

How's that new ground of their's coming on at that rate they would struggle to fill a indoor sports centre let alone a new ground. Big debt, no trophies, ageing squad, low crowds, stadium not built yet. "There may be trouble ahead

Not really - there's a lot of negativity about rugby league at the moment. The play offs were for the most part were poor as was the whole regular season. The standard is the poorest it's been for a while.

Added to this the boring thought of watching the same 2 teams for the third year and the recession ment a lot of neutrals (who make up a huge number of final crowds no matter who is playing) will have stayed away.

Yesterdays final reminded me of th back end of Wigan Cup winning run - it ws so boring in that you knew the inevitable was always going to occur no matter how well Saints started.

Saints fans are a negative bunch at the best of times but when the new coach is disliked and team looks like it's not going to win they will stay away.

Saints top tier was half full i was really shocked.Seems they can also see whats happening to there once great club.

Plus there was a good number of leeds fans in the north/west section were we was sat.

would be nice to get some stats about what tickets were actually sold. Apparently there was a security lock down in manchester on all public transport and many had to attempt to get to the game on foot or in taxis. Could this have played a part in the low crowd

Well it didnt stop the leeds fans they were out in great numbers

I was sat in the Stains end , and it was littered with leeds fans all around the section. Loved winding them up all game

Was there much fighting like last season?

Wigan fans crowing about leaving early. Would be funny if it wasnt so tragic.

I was at saint s a few years ago when we won at knowsley road by 40 odd and they beat us in the playoffs week later by 40 (cant remember year). Was in the saints end and they were leaving at half time to catch the rest on the tv...always makes me smile when they say Wigan walk and I have that memory

Worst game atmosphere wise at OT since SL began last night.

And possibly the worst game for a neutral also.

Saints support at the GF was nothing short of shocking there is no doubting that but IMO the GF is an event for rugby league as a whole and should be attended by everyone who can get a ticktet, don't complain if you wernt there yourself!

Noticed one minor scuffle at the bottom of the Stretford End, and there were a couple of rather gobby Leeds fans sat near us who had to be spoken to by the old bill, but no other problems that I noticed.

Thought the support for Saints was pretty poor, all told, but the Leeds fans were deafening at times.

They were awesome the leeds fans, OT has never seen noise like it!

Saints support was shocking but the seats should be filled up by other rugby league supporters.

We were sat about halfway up the Stretford End, so hadn't actually seen just how empty the top tier was at that end until seeing the Super League Show - poor effort considering a lot of those areas would have been on sale at Saints, and especially when seeing how full it was in the top tier of the Leeds end.

Leeds end was packed we couldn't get a ticket there at all except upper corner. Like I said the support was shocking, burton albian took more to OT, but why should anyone complain about it if they were not there?

I got loads of stick from saints fans sat in the middle of them all, it was great then watching them do the saints stroll aat the end with me singing, we can see you sneaking out

they were not happy.

When Sinfield scored penalty to make it 11-10, he popped his purple banging stick that he had and threw it at the womans head in front of him. Then when Smith scored Leeds last try and he got up walked down the stairs and tried to grab one of those inflatable rhinos off a woman, and tried to pop it. All I heard was her scream and he husband get up as if he was about to knock him out.



Pathetic I expect better from a man of his age.
