There's only Briscoe I'd want back; but Phelps is doing a great job at the moment.

SR is not a problem area at Wigan as some people have said, but who would complain if we brought him in for next season?

Maybe SR is not a problem but he could of been a great centre and we had problems with that position for years.

Looking back Briscoe and Wild would of been good to keep, but decisions were made and we didn't keep them, get over it, it's not like we had a say in the matter.

One more thing though, if any other club had let young players like that go they probably would not see good young players like that for some time where as Wigan have them coming through every years and just look around super league and see how many x wigan players there are.

My thoughts exactly.

We’ve got a good young team that has shown it’s potential a few times this season and the longer they play together the better they will become.

IMO there are plenty more positives than negatives at the moment and our future looks a lot more assured than some other teams.

I think he has proved to be a decent signing for Huddersfield but you have to give a lot of credit to Nathan Brown who seems to have really got the players working well together as a team, particularly in defence although as Brown said himself a number of players didnt perform on the day on Saturday and semeed to let the occasion get to them.....i was suprised to see Earl Crabtree with the camcorder prior to the game, he hardly looked focused and just looked happy to be at Wembley.

During his Wigan days i thought Wild always looked promising imo Danny Tickle seemed to offer more at that stage of his career and i was more disapointed that Tickle had to leave more than Wild.

the only one id have back is briscoe but under the circumstances the lad wanted first team rugby and he wasnt going to get that when super kris was still here.

brown could of been big at wigan but he was in the squad at the wrong time- he had a half back partner who was possibly the worst half back to play for wigan and he also did not get the propper break through he seemed to get thrusted into first team action.

Wild went because he was poor at the time.

He is now, decent enough but I wouldnt have him back.

I agree he did not have the best form when we let him go but come one this season he has been one of the top players and will be one of the SR in the dream team.

I bet he isnt.

If he isn't it's a poor decision as I believe he has been the best SR all year.

I think his form has been good, but I dont think he has been the form second rower in the comp.

He has definitely improved since he left us. Every time I have seen him this year he has had a good game. I too thought he was one of Hudds' better players on Saturday but that isn't exactly hard as the majority of Hudds' players were poor. I wouldn't grumble if he did come back but I wouldn't be going out of my way to sign him either.

What about Briscoe?

Yes. I think he's as good as if not better than Phelps, would command a similar salary and it would free up a quota spot.

(This isn't to say I dislike Phelps before anyone has a go).

I was hoping you would say that as I share that view. Having a fairly young Wiganer playing in a important position to a great standard sounds pretty good.

Just out of interest who was playing scrum half when Brown was playing for you lot? Was it Orr? What happened there, he came with a big rep and failed (or so it seems), I hated Wigan for years (family ties to Saints) but you lot have grown on me more and more think you play some good stuff and have some top young players coming through (nothing new there though!)

I wish Puletua was playing as a second rower, he is far too work shy to be a prop.

Wild is good but he isn't anything that Wigan don't already have. Gilmour was one that got away, underrated for most of his career.

think wild was a good player at wigan and is a great player now -he has improved but not unexpectedly. we were playing him out of position in the centres. he is dream team material and imo a cert for england honours all being fair.

d hodgson is much improved and that one i dont think any of us saw coming.

Hodgy was top of our try scoring charts one season he is a good fast winger still

I think part of the problem for Wigan, certainly in the past at least, is that you traditionally produce so many talented players in your area that you have let a few of the real gems slip through the net. Was Kevin Brown always with you lot, or did he start at Saints?

If you are laying Baite then I'm afraid youv'e come to the wrong place were Brown/Robinson/Hodgson & to certain extent Wild are concerned.

Pretty much for various reasons it was the right thing to let all of them go for both parties probably.
