I would imagine the 15k includes tickets sold by Leeds.

Harder for a side with low crowds already to do this. Wigan have a rich backer and can spend a fair amount on marketing the game around town and lower ticket prices substantially, could less rich sides do this? I dunno.

It's a great idea but if it failed then sales would be down and it would seriously hit the pockets of sides without a rich benefactor.

Back on topic though it's a great piece of marketing for Wigan and hopefully the RL world can see how it's down and try and implement it in some form itself.

IL will be absolutely praying that Wigan beat Bradford at the weekend.
A poor loss against a dire Bradford side would seriously harm sales in the week leading up to the match.
Whereas a good win would see us sell up to and in excess of 20K+ by kick off.

I i were going the other way to watch 4 NRL games i'd be tickled pink so he must be looking forward to it.

It's just a marketing thing and the club has done others such as at the Quins game where the North Stand, normally closed due to lack of away support for that game, was opened up Heinz staff and relations. That was a real success.

About the only thing you will get people to agree on within this forum is the marketing side of the club is doing very well!

I am sure the club hope to attract more fans from the extra fans that may turn up. More so from the Heinz game perhaps but whatever, Mick Hogan and his crew are doing a very good job.

This is terrific news and well done to the club for promoting this match, in all honesty the promotion could not of come at a better time for the club and most importantly its supporters given the recent negativity that has been associated with the club.

Going into the game (and not discounting the important game against Bradford) i feel this is a real opportunity for Mark Riddell to really show what he can do against arguabley one of the worlds great 9's in Danny Buderas.

In fact when you look at the Bradford game too its going to be a big test for Riddell as Terry Newton is also a good player so he has two big games on the bounce to impress.

I agree, a great result and good for the attendance on Friday. It's a good job though that it was an away match today and any non committed supporters wouldn't have seen how badly we really played. They wouldn't want to come on Friday after seeing that.

We will really need to improve our game by a considerable amount to make an impression on Friday and with the injuries to Bailey and Flanagan, I'm not too hopeful.

However, that was with the head. The heart says that with the spirit we showed today anything is possible.
