I've beensaying for ages that I'd love to see Ricky Stuart. Pure class as a player, trained under Wayne Bennett. He's been involved in top class rugby and club level, state of origin and internationals both as a player and coach.
Please Mr Lennigan, bring Ricky Stuart to Wigan.'"
Won the NRL with the Roosters but has been slightly less successful since. At the Sharks he did a woeful job, but given the state of the Sharks, it is too harsh to right him off.
Would not be a bad import. A proven winner, as player and coach.

Not sure the KNights would be willing to let him go. He has really turned that club around since the departure of Joey Johns. Also, Smith wants to win an NRL title before his career is out. He won't be doing that at Wigan.

| I'd love to get Des Hasler in. He has taken the whole sport science thing to another level in the NRL and is just the type of coach who would not only revolutionise Wigan, but would bring in new philosophies that would change coaching for the better in Super League, in much the same way Monie did when he first came to Wigan.

Is he going to leave those lovely beaches in Manly for the rain in Wigan?

I wouldn't leave the rain in Leeds for the rain in Wigan, but money talks at the end of the day.

| If Lam wasn't a former Wigan player there would be very little buzz about him.
We need a top draw Aussie coach.

| I don't think the gap in the league will be the problem for Justin Morgan coming here.
I think he will feel that he hasn't done everything he could do at KR, and the way they are going that means a CC and a SL title, Noble came to us because he'd won everything with Bradford and wanted a new challenge. The Bradford board also gave permission for us to speak with him.
I very much doubt we will get permission to speak with him regarding signing, or just be able to throw money at him 'till he signs.
I'd like to see an unknown come in, someone who hasn't won everything, who can bring in fresh idea's and stay a step ahead of the game, rather than just staying with the current leaders I want us to be the leaders.

No no no!!! I would dispare if we went for McDermott, we do not need another Bradford Bulls trained coach. We either go for the fella that started the ball rolling at Bradford or avoid them like the plague.

Agreed.
You do get the feeling that the Bradford ethos is unravelling a little. Macnamara is clearly on borrowed time, as is Noble. At Bradford itself there seems to be very little good news.

| As I said previously I'd prefer Noble to be given another year. If not Brian Smith would be the man.
Wigan have "chased" him for over 20 years, maybe now is the time.

I have been fortunate enough to have stayed at Narrabeen, where Manly are based and I'd move there tomorrow without hesitation.
I am under no illusions that the inhabitants of Manly have the same domestic and/or family problems as much of the rest of the world but I'd sooner have them in paradise!

| Stephen Kearney is quite rightly the number one target. NRL experience, International experience (including working alongside Wayne Bennett) plus recent experience of the SL. He's a million miles clear of Lam or any other IMHO.
The other possibility (and 2nd choice from what I hear) if Lennigan wants a fans favourite is Farrell although that's obviously a much bigger risk.
Don't be surprised to see Dennis Betts involved when either of the above 2 are appointed. Big changes afoot at Gloucester RU and played with and still close friends with both.

Kearney would be a very interesting choice, but surely Farrell would need to train to be a coach first?

Amen to that
Maybe IL was secretly poaching Brian Smith and used Webb as a cover up

This idea of getting brian Smith is up there with the nonsense about getting Jonathan Thurston. Smith has yet to win an Aussie grand Final. He has finally turned the newcastle team into a credible outfit. Smith is unlikely to be giving up that job for another re-building exercise with Wigan.

Why? He left Toulouse in 2005 at the time we had Millward in charge?

| Lam would be a risk but i'd take it if we were unable to prise a couple of other coaches away from their clubs.
My first choice and most peoples i guess would be Justin Morgan but it's unlikely we'd get him i feel.
