Ive never been a massive admirer of Prescott but his workrate was sensational as was Roberts (no-ones mentioned him much). The way Gaz constantly steamrollered Shirley long out of the way was beautiful to see.. Every one of them superb but Smith on confidence is as good a player were likely to watch in superleague this season and he absolutely ran the show..

Although at the time we all agreed it was very difficult to pick anyone out as it had been a very fine team performance, almost flawless intact.
Just like it was difficult to name anyone who had played poorly.

Smith - the first set of 6 he showed the ball then played a cut out pass to the wing - better slight of hand than anyhting we've seen at wigan for years.

Smith - Controlled everything, genius
Prescott - Go forward was terrific tonight, shows what a bit of form can do
McIlorum - Never seen him play like this tonight, attacking and taking on the line of defence. Made some good runs.

The ones who made the real difference IMO:

1. Timmy
2. Tommy
3. Hock

Also Locky, Prescott and Coley. It was a tough choice to put Hock in at 3 instead of Locky but Hock probably just about gets it as he caused so many problems for Saints.

Also thought coley had his best match in a wigan shirt from what i've seen.

Coley has been playing like that for the last 6 weeks or so, really upped his game.. much to our surprise/pleasure

I'm pleased with everyone but I wish Feka would lose some weight so he can be more effective. He isn't gaining the metres he used to, his only off-load was to a Saints player, only has limited game time and he can't do big hits like Coley.
People have always given Fielden stick on here but he has been much more valuable to Wigan than Feka this season. I wouldn't pick him until he lost two stone. He would be an awesome player then.

Smith was always going to come good and I feel now that Wigan will be a hard team to beat. Leuluai no doubt one of the best in the world and that was proven by his appearance in the world cup winning squad. Coley might be hitting his twilight years but he does put in a good performance when needs to.

At last you’ve got a Wigan team you can be proud of under Brian Noble even though it took a long time.

1) Smith - superb vision, passing and kicking game.

2) O'Loughlin - fantastic work rate, has to be the most under rated player in Super League

3) Coley - After all I've called him, his last six weeks displays have been excellent.

A big mention for Mickey Mac, overshadowed Cunningham and Roby.

Agreed Coley has really upped his game and daft as it may seem i think he could easily play his way into a Tri Nations spot at the end of the year if he keeps it up, he has been top notch the last month or so. Such a frustrating player given the physical gifts he has but the poor performances he has thus far produced apart from of late.

What are the odds that we could have another player being released from wigan because he's not good enough playing for england against the aussies....hmmmm.....
