If you were a professional commentator for Sky and, like Eddie, Stevo and everyone else who appears on screen, had to hide your allegiance in the interests of impartiality - no matter how professional you are, and no matter how good you were at hiding it normally, can you honestly say you would not have cracked during THAT performance?

Is Eddie's lack of impartiality actually not a bad thing? Would you rather have someone like Clive Tyldesley, who did 'Rugby League Live' for Granada in the 80s, who doesn't know or care anything about the sport? Now he WAS shocking - and no one complained about him when he had orgasms over Man U scoring the two, last minute goals against Bayern Munich, did they? i listen to radio manchester and you have a leyther and oldhamer who have a deep running problem with the wigan club. it has no effect on the game on the pitch and when wigan score it brings a chuckle listening to them congratulating the boys through gritted teeth.
