Noble coaches a defence that can defend against a flat attack, with a deep attack the wide players have yards to run at there opposite number with no pressure on them. See the Bailey thread of last week, see Bailey get shown up tonight due to his lack of mobility and pace.

As you say against a deep attacking line the defense has no chance, one example being the amount of time Burrow had to make the kick for Halls try, however as a player ( even I know this as an amateur) if you see a deep attacking line then surely you must make the decusion to get up fast and cut down the options in attack. Leeds line speed this evening was superb and they forced numerous errors when you had the ball. I don't rate Noble as a coach and never have done but some blame must lie with the players too, at the end of the day you play whats in front of you and change accordingly.

True but I also mean the players, they are 100 times better players than I am and can make decisions much quicker than I (I assume anyway) but many times this evening Wigan held the line instead of rushing up and cutting down the attacking options, OK thery may have been told to defend this way but as a player if what you're doing isn't working surely you take it upon yourselves to rectify this and change your tactics (with or without the coaches consent). I've been involved in games where the tactics employed by our coach were wrong, our captain has stood up and told us to change and things have improved, the coach was man enough to admit he was wrong and praised us as a group for sorting things out between ourselves. Everyone gets things wrong but its how you react to your failings and also admitting them that determines how good a coach you are, this in my opinion is where Noble fails, i get the feeling its my way or the highway with him but your senior players need to stand up and open their mouths in a way which does not undermine the coach, could Noble take it on the chin that he's got something wrong? do the players have the balls to question him?

Its a reality check big time. Everything was wrong tonight from BN and everything was right from BM.
