Clearly you do even though he has only played 1 game thus far this year.
I think he will be a very good player for us but i think he needs to be used as a 7.

He's better out of the team. He contribute much and he plays ahead Karl Pryce (although not full fit) and sometimes Goulding.

| FB: Richards - I also want him to move up into the line to take the long kicks, Smith doesn't have the power, he spins it too much.
RW: Phelps - I want him to prove himself as a usefull player, plus he is no .
RC: Goulding - Tell him to run a line that isnt towards touch, draw the players then pass. Rocket science.
LC: Carmont - No justification required
LW: Roberts - I want to see what he can achieve with decent service. Also needs to sprint not jog, especially going backwards.
SO: Tim Smith - Don't get too cocky, save kicks for near the line, pass more like the bullets you know you can do. We have all seen them, and could be a really good way to use the overlap that we rarely do.
SH: Thomas Leuluai - No justification required
OP: Fielden - Lean forward a bit more, run with a bith more speed, if you are ony going to be played for shorter periods, put a little bit more in on the charge
HK: Piggy - Make sure the forwards have a tiny bit more distance from you, dont bunch and force dodgy angles.
BP: O'Carrol - Great, same again
SR: Hansen - If this guy is defending, we will not be as exposed at the begining, seems a bit bigger this year, use it in attack, get more angry
SR: Joel Tomkins - No justification required
LF: O'Loughlin - Carry on, get some distance from the if you plan to pass to them, do not bunch.
Sub: Feka - Impact, good man for not killing Demetriou
Sub: Hock - Impact, less offloads, unless Sam is on the field, he should be hanging around Hock to take them and cut the defence
Sub: Prescott - If available
Sub: Sam Tomkins - Give him a chance, Lockers is not a 6. Ever
Thats how i would go next week, on a basic general advice level

| Only 4 brits in your run on team and only 2 local guys.
Wigan is the beating heart of junior RL yet you don't seem to bring them through, preferring instead to sign "big name" Aussies.
You have some real talent in Goulding, the Tomkins brothers, Prescott etc - get them on the pitch!

I have to agree with that myself.
Mathers head is not right at the moment and Coley is very, very average.

| I'll bet good money that Noble won't drop Coley. He simply does not drop his senior players regardless of performance. Mathers is like Vaealiki all over again, you keep waiting and waiting for him to turn the corner for an 'Ah! That's why they signed him!' moment. It's NEVER going to come, he's terrified of anything that comes near him - ball, attackers, defenders the lot. He should be about 24th in the pecking order for a first team spot.

Dropping Mathers is obvious, it's not so much because he was so bad today but because he's been so bad since he got here. I'd take the radical step of using Hock as a prop so that we're a bit more mobile in attack, I'm sure he can handle himself, might do his temprament some good as well to mix it with the props. I think we need someone to replace Riddell without using Lockers at stand off but we can't throw Sam Tomkins into a team playing this badly against Hull who will probably beat us, so I'd throw Mike McIllorum in there. He's played quite a few SL games, will relish the opportunity and he's a tough little sod. Drop Coley too, he's not doing anything O'Carroll and Prescott don't do as well or better.

| Without knowing if there are players who are being disruptive (as claimed elsewhere).
Roberts
Phelps
Goulding
Carmont
Richards
Smith
Leuluai
Fielden
Riddell
Prescott
Hansen
O'Loughlin
Tomkins
Hock
Feka
Tomkins (S)
O'Carroll
The key Hooker/halfback interchange then takes care of itself. Hock and Feka, impact players off the bench.
Our best defensive pack from the start.

Indeed. One of three players who MUST go at the end of the season.

| Mathers - Very nervous when the ball was kicked towards him and let the ball run out into touch rather than attempting to take it and run, making it harder for our side to break through the Wakefield defense and find any decent field position and seemed to be out of position in attack and loitered about too much.
Richards - Solid game but didn't see much of the ball.
Carmont - No real complaints other than his miscommunication with Richards when he went over the touch line when we had a decent amount of tackles left and good field position.
Phelps - Defensively he seemed to be caught out on quite a few occasions and left open holes for Wakefield to utilise.
Roberts - Was awful and very, very slow as well as out of position for a lot of Wakefield's attack which led to their tries, showed promise under the high bomb however.
Smith - Made a couple of decent openings for the side and kicked a 40/20 to give us field position but let himself down with numerous kicks down the right hand side which was covered effectively by Wakefield which made his gameplan predictable, showed promise though.
Leuluai - By far our most explosive player with ball in hand and moved very well to find himself gaps which gave him more breaks than any one else (I think!), not the best kicking game however.
Fielden - Poor, especially after the back end of last season he looked like the Fielden of old he struggled to power forward today and make life easier for the rest of the side.
Riddell - I thought he was very anonymous for his first game and although he made one decent kick in the game didn't take a stranglehold on it like I thought he might...early days however.
Paleaasina - Not as effective as he can be sometimes and I think that may be down to good defence from Wakefield and poor distribution from Wigan with the ball offered to Feka when he was in a static position.
Bailey - At fault for one of the breaks of Wakefield because he turns like a canal boat but good defence.
Hock - Apart from the blistering run at the end of the game he was poor today with a few handling errors.
O'Loughlin - Laughable in attack. Couldn't control the ball and lost it on numerous occasions but showed his usual form in defence.
O'Carroll - Our best prop today, made no errors AFAIK and made good yards.
Coley - Rubbish, gave away the ball and a penalty in a two minute spell and lost the ball on numerous occassions with very little go forward was our worst performer IMO.
J. Tomkins - Looked very lively and almost broke through a few times, got the try because his positional play is top notch, between him and Leuluai for MOTM in our team.
Hansen - Boosted our defence as usual but offered little else.
Next Week's team:
Roberts
Richards
Goulding
Carmont
Pryce/Ainscough
Smith
Leuluai
Fielden
Riddell
O'Carroll
Bailey
O'Loughlin
J.Tomkins
Paleaasina
Hock
Prescott/Coley
S.Tomkins/McIlorum.

How long did you sign him up for?
Noble should have watched more of him during the 2007 season and realised how poor he really was, we werent bitterly dissapointed with his performances for no reason.
Coley had his best seasons under Karl Harrison when used as a wide running second rower, but he thought he knew best and wanted to mix it in the middle with the big boys. Unfortunatly he hasnt got the "know how" to play as a modern day prop forward assuming he still has bad ball security, lazely jogs upto the line and more often than not "crabs" along the line rather than hitting it with speed and momentum.

We need a half-back/hooker on the bench, no need for 5 backrows in the squad. We should be using our abundence of backrows to create some competition for places, not having them all in the matchday squad.
Smith needs to be given more time at 6, he was used as a bit-part played towards the end of last seaon. IMO needs a decent run of games before being judged.
The foreign players we have in the team must be a significant improvment on the promisinging youngsters we've got. Players like Phelps & Baileys are only holding back the likes of Goulding, Ainscough, Mossopp.
Although the only change I expect to see against Hull depends on if Mathers gets suspended.
