To be fair mate I only really read that one post and it was as if he was saying only Wigan were allowed to selectively select periods in history to celebrate. I have no interest in the petty arguments and name calling that many seem to have descended too. I just think our recent success should not be ignored as we still have the vast majority of players who we know can win things, so as of now we should not be written off. However, yes I think it's very clear to see you were the best team last season and as of now are favorites and rightly so. But it's a long season and a lot can change. I just hope all fans realise we are all here to enjoy the sport and discuss matters in a contructive way, not to eneter slanging matches over frankly stupid topics.

Fully agree. I think Leeds have done extremely well in recent years - considering their barren years from the 70's - 90's.

Wigan are definitely going in the right direction (to achieve further success), the fact that our U20's are beating Barrow away 32-6 at the moment is testament to that.

So you are saying that Wigan do use such negative tactics which is and has been complained about by numerous RL personalities (Only one of which is GH) and was been the catalyst for the introduction of another referee (which is a fairly huge change in the officiating of the game, as big as any in my lifetime) in Australia to rescue the spectacle.
I certainly cant agree that the flair, dexterity or skill levels of SL now, and in immediately preceeding years is as high as it was 5-10 years ago. I certainly dont think that the 2009 Leeds side which won the LLS and GF was better than the Leeds team in 2005 which lost the GF and CC final, I certainly dont think it is the quality of the 2004 side.

But i think you clarify here your argument isnt that Wigan dont play that type of rugby, dont have a reliance on defence and wrestling techniques, but simply that those techniques dont matter. Which would make your defensive tone seem even stranger

Which makes your position simply ridiculous and contradictory. If Wigan do play an expansive and fast-flowing, entertaining brand of rugby (and in the interests of full disclosure i dont believe they do. I dont believe many teams do at the moment, including Leeds) then why take offence at something which you dont believe applies to Wigan, and bar the speculation of a journalist, doesnt mention Wigan. If you do believe that Wigan play an exciting brand of Rugby then you would surely support GH's comments rather than criticise him for making them.

And do you mean cold hard facts like Wigan committed more technical offences than any other team in SL last year?

yes, at the level of 'cheating' from Mcguire, certainly.

It would take someone of particular mean spirit to think the injury Mcguire suffered was anything other than a very unfortunate incident that has robbed the game of one of its most exciting stars for a fair period. And it would take a particularly cold heart not to see the immense personal hurt and worry an injury like that will have caused Mcguire and not to be sympathetic.

It would also take a particular type of stupidity to believe that Mcguire 'cheating' was any different to the numerous penalties Wigan gave away not only in that game but throughout the year.

And i suppose it was just a co-incidence and conspiracy that Wigan gave away more technical penalties than any other team last year, and the most penalties in total, and its just unfortunate luck that Joel Tomkins gave away 12 more penalties than any other leeds player last year?
