can't believe Hock has been brought into things, we seemed to survive without him for 2 year so he can't be that important where as H is the backbone of our defence imo (along with lockers)

To me, Hock is the exact opposite of Hansen

In defence, fair enough, Hock is a big unit and can put in some punishing hits but Hansens defence is second to none.

On the flip side, Hansen isnt all that good in attack imo and thats where Hock's real gift lies

Hansen for me (along with Mossop) has been the most improved since Maguire took over the helm. He always was a hard working solid player but under Maguire he's become one of the best players at the club. He's now playing consistent top class rugby for us under Wane and with Hock and O'Loughlin I think we have the best back row in Super League.

Are you positive they're not expensive, over the hill Australian imports that are robbing the youth of today of a place in Super League?

The majority of our forwards have come through academy which is pleasing

If you look back at my posts whenever there was a debate about HH I have always said how good a player he is and I am not one to think anyone who gets a chance to put the cherry n' white on must automatically be a good player.

I never really understood why anyone could think otherwise about HH because there are some players who it is just obvious that they know what they are about on the pitch and are just quality and from a young age. Another player who was like that is sadly no longer at the club - Joel Tomkins. As a 2nd row (not a centre) he was another who oozed quality in that position but again early in his career was not a fan favourite. They are from the same era and display many of the same qualities and I am just glad we still have HH on the books.

As to Goulding does the fact that three different coaches have NOT picked him in the starting 13 week in week out also tell you something? Were Noble and Madge just wrong or has Goulding got a new lease of life and is a different player under Wane? Whatever, it would be great for him to finally make it as a centre both for him personally (I felt Noble treated him particularly badly) and for the club as this position has been a problem for a while now.

To say Hansen "isnt all that good in attack" is more than a bit of a myth IMO. Watch the lines he runs and the tries he scores.

I've always rated Hansen, but had my doubts about Goulding. I would loved to be proved wrong about Darren but this season he is doing his job well.

He's 26! it seems as if he's been at Wigan forever, great servant to the club and rarely does Sky pick up on his huge work ethic.

H just does his job and gets on with it. Rarely makes mistakes and is solid in defence. You can't ask any more from him and glad he's in our side and not anyone else's.

Hock, Mossop, Prescott when hes fit always give 100% and its great to have them in our team. Young and solid!

H is a great player, with a brilliant work rate. Always puts in 100%. I can only really think of one game he hasn't played well in recent times, and that was HJ last year. Although, none of the team played well that day. But I digress.

And since he has been brought up, Goulding is looking fairly good this year, hopefully he'll silence a few critics, same as Micky Mac.

He used to, but he's done well over the past few years.

Just needs to add more tryscoring to his game and he be near complete. (Mainly for my fantasy team

HH is one of wigans' best team players and an unsung hero in the current era for me, along with lockers.

fantastic player and the fact he doesnt score too many tries doesnt worry me because his contributions across the remainder fo the pitch are usually of a very high standard and are just as worthy as 4 points on the board.

the good thing about having H in the side is that the younger players who have come in over the last few years know what they have to do to retain a place and this provides great team ethics and competition which as you know can only be good for the team in general.

And Hansen is still only 26 years of age.

I still can't believe that. Particularly when you take into consideration that Sam will soon be 23.

I think he would score more trys if he moved across to the left a few times in a match,it would not only confuse the opposition but with his pace coming on to a Finch pass (Finch operates mostly on the left) he could be devestating.
Remember the try he scored at Leeds a couple of years ago when he ran round Webb,that was by going against the grain and going to the left.

The funny thing with Honest HH is determining when his peak will be achieved, I say that because the fella's as big as a prop now, perhaps a 80 minute prop. And maybe with a bit more bulk we will see him win a lot more collisions i.e running over a centre & winger from 10 metres out. Its looking good no matter what position he plays, its always 100%
