It’s not wardles job to make meters. It’s his job to score and set up tries. That said, I’ve read on this very forum that it’s not a props job to make meters, it’s a props job to dominate in defense lmao. It’s safe to say that poster has no idea what they are talking about so best to ignore them.

I watched the hull kr game. King was as terrible as you would expect given he is below average at best but wardle was ok

A few to me seems to infer more than a couple.
I think Isa is a certainty to start and Mago on the bench is a strong probability.
Maybe he’s going to bring Shorrocks into the 17 as well?
Powell didn’t end the season well and I wouldn’t be surprised if he starts on the bench. Personally as per previous post I don’t see the logic/rationale of having both Powell and O’Neil in a 17 man squad. Total waste of a substitute.

Will be interesting to see who is dropped. I think KPP is almost certain to be dropped and then any of the props from last week could be omitted.

Would really send a message if he excluded Powell rather than O’Neil. I don’t think that will happen as our defence was so poor last week and Peet won’t risk the possibility of it deteriorating even more so if Powell wasn’t in the starting 13.

I don't think it'll be Powell dropped. At the game I noticed that O'Neil got caught three or four times with his back to the play the ball, a big no no defensively.

I think it will be 2 props or 1 prop and O’Neil with Mago and Isa coming in. Isa to start, Mago off the bench.

Mago should be in the squad IMO simply because he's a point of difference. He obviously has limitations but on Saturday there was no-one on the bench that we could look to and believe that they may change the direction of the game. Also as someone else mentioned earlier this week, all of the five props selected on Saturday are capable of more minutes so ideally there would be more of a focus on impact from the bench (even if it's in short bursts).

It was myself who mentioned the 5 props and how all are big minutes props, which then means they won’t get those minutes when you play all 5. I’d only have 5 in the 17 if Mago is one of them (or maybe if they give Hill a chance after his loan spell) and if he isn’t, 4 from that 5 selected last Saturday is comfortably enough. They all can do 40 minutes plus and furthermore, I think all need those sort of minutes to show their best.

Byrne up to starting tomorrow IMO and Mago to take Singletons bench spot.

I don’t think for a second that Powell will be dropped nor even that O’Neil played well on Saturday just that if Peet really wanted to show that nobody’s place is safe then dropping Powell would be a way of doing it and getting a strong message out.
At the end of last season when Powell came back his form was mediocre to poor and for me I would have retained O’Neil at 9. Totally agree that defensively Powell is far superior and there is little to zero chance of him being dropped.
I’m hoping that with Tommy now coaching that Powell will start playing a more expensive game and give us broader kicking options at the last tackle.

We've been hoping for some of that for the last 6 years. It isn't helped by how we play though. He's obviously told to just get the ball into the halfback's hands as quickly as possible.

Can’t see it. Wigan TV aren’t allowed go show them live and since Covid days, games aren’t being streamed anywhere. Leeds v Hull is the Sky game, so imagine it’ll be that.
