Great game last night, would have made next seasons fixture more attractive to any Aussies watching. Proud of our effort to fight back, gutted to get pipped like we did, a bit annoyed with a red that I really didn't think was. Hopefully we can cling on to 4th now and who knows, maybe we can do it all over again at Old Trafford?

I love the totally unbiased Sky team, if Wigan seemed to have been wronged, it ends up being a very brief discussion followed by a summarisation of, “get on with it, read it in the papers”. On the other hand, if a controversial decision seems to go in favour of Wigan (which it must be said is seldom) there seems to be a judicial inquiry that follows from the so called neutral pundits. And a change to the stated games end review, the Well's epilogue, when Scott Taylor was brought in to give an unbiased point of view on one incident really. To be fair to him, his was actually the least biased opinion of all of them!

The fuss they made about the 'forward pass' was more annoying to me than the sending off.

The red card was a bit harsh in my view (though I thought Watts acted like a pillock straight after the incident), but at worst that so-called forward pass was a line-ball. It was nowhere near as clear-cut as Hemmings, Cummings and their muppet friends tried to make out. We see dozens of passes like that allowed every season, with perhaps a comment or two, but nothing like the protracted, disgust-flavoured analysis we heard last night.

I was also amazed to hear the honours heaped on Hull for their 'home-grown' team. I guess I was out making a cup of tea when Wigan were given a similar praise.

Hemmings was so anti Wigan last night it was pathetic. He really should've gone with his side kick. He was moaning about Wigan scoring a try off a forward pass just as Hull threw one about a metre forward (which also wasn't given but didn't lead to a try) and what did he say? Nowt, not a thing.

I don't mind any of the others tbh but it's time for Wiggy to hang up the mic and his Saints underpants he wears under his suit.

Even as a Hull fan I must say I didn't see too much wrong with the forward pass. It was a bit unconventional from Gelling, which I think maybe made it look worse than it was. Maybe drifted forward a touch, but no more than 20 or so other passes do every game.

Re the "forward" pass, you can see from the pitch markings that they're running side by side with Davies ever so slightly behind, Gelling passes and Davies has to reach slightly backwards to collect it so there's no way it could have been forward. It's the camera angle and the fact Gelling pulls up as soon as he's passed that gives the impression of a forward.

From behind it looks miles forward but from the best angle its just about forward. But you would have think that Tom Brady had hit The Gronk with a 50 yard pass the way Eddie went on.

Hemmings has been anti-Wigan for as long as I can remember ... maybe owing to that Faz charity golf tournament that he made such a pathetic live-on-air fuss about not being invited to. He doesn't even need to say anything to get his message across; his tone drops dramatically in terms of enthusiasm and excitement when Wigan are on the front foot. What surprises me, though, is how much the rest of them have now become his lackeys. The amount of glorifying of Hull last night from the whole lot of them was ridiculous. In the end, Hull did well to get close to us given their one-man disadvantage, but it really was nowhere near the Hull Show that the Muppet Gallery was making out.

Certain fans reaction to a Wigan win is beyond embarrassing, on these boards, social media and in "real life". Why is it that certain people seem to lose the power of rational thought at the mere mention of Wigan?

There's a poster on the Dire forum who says they're done with RL if we win the Grand Final. That's before those who lack any basic common sense or self awareness who claim Wigan are cheats (despite the fact their team have been penalised more this season i.e. been found to have cheated the rules more).

Then we have the truly moronic who believe The RFL and therefore all the refs and touch judges favour Wigan and Leeds, who completely forget the Clubb no try at Wembley and the Barba "try" last week.

I want to win the GF now just to laugh at the rage, bile and conspiracies from an embarrassingly large proportion of the RL community.

Given that we've stuttered & struggled all year & Cas & FC have been the consistent teams (& Leeds, he says through gritted teeth), it would show up the main flaw in the current format of these play-offs if we [iwere [/ito get to Trafford Rovers' ground, would it not? If we then went on to win, Yorkshire would go into meltdown. There would be a rhubarb massacre.
Not saying it wouldn't be nice, but I can't help thinking of the IOC & how they altered the cycling to prevent GB winning everything. But then we still went on winning everything.

If McIlorum and Watts traded places last night and McIlorum had been sent off for a similar incident I'm certain the VT and opppsition supporters in general would feel just the same sense of injustice for Micky as they seem to for Watts.

Just to correct you Hull are anything but consistent this year.

Having watching the video again since, I also notice one of them trying to claim that McIlorum was at fault for shooting out of the line - when he clearly intended to go around the body, in other words, affect a big tackle ... which, when Hull did them, won huge acclaim.

I found this season that an added bonus of going to away games is not having to sit in the pub and listen to Hemmings and co's drivel on the TV. They spoil the game so much for me that on games I don't go to, I almost prefer to stay at home and listen to the game on Wish.

This scenario has been on the cards for months, Wigan fighting back from nowhere and pinching a place in the top 4. With the exception of Leeds (who know they have the pedigree to hold off Wigan and win the GF) they are all crapping themselves about us. It's going to be a fun few weeks

Thought the props did excellent on Friday, all of them except Sutton making over 9m average gain which is very good, espically thought there was a big improvement from FPN, seeing him trying to bust the tackles instead of falling to the floor straight away was a welcome, if the props play like that every week we won't lose many games

They played exactly as our props should play with the rest and rotation handed out. They all should be running their hearts out.

With McIlorum going off it meant an extra interchange, an eighty min hooker makes a hell of a difference to how our props play.
