Good Friday 2011, who can ever forget Farrell's last minute try and Michael Maguire falling over backwards on the gantry in excitement.
Keith Senior's try for GB v Australia in 2004 in the 76th minute to win the game. picked up a loose ball and run in from half way. The south stand was literally rocking.
Fantastic atmospheres

I think the world cup must be on to a winner when the only negative comment is the Ref's kit colour. I would imagine the Pink is to avoid colour clashes.

I went to QPR to watch Latics that day and was in a packed Walkabout in Shepherds Bush. Went pretty quiet at that moment

| Another World cup thriller
Well done Scotland and Tonga
Shane Hayne made it a seesawing contest with his NRL incompetence , pedantic display.
Tonga are an NRL star packed side without halves or a Kicker.
Italy Tonga will be another cracker , this world cup has surpassed all expectations already.

| Loving this comp so far - each game surpasses the last!!!
Real pity that RL is the best kept sporting secret in the UK - if this was soccer or union the nation would be drooling - what do we have to do !!!

It is and we do crave that attention but I wonder sometimes would things be the same if we got it? I wouldn't have swapped that occasion at Rochdale for the world last night. The atmosphere was immense and it was a great opportunity for the community of Rochdale and inparticular the Fijian people to go and experience it. There was a raft of kids there, families there and it was a real party. Give me that over huge, lifeless and soulless football stadiums where supporters only turn up because it's the 'in thing to do' anyday. We also have real players with passion that runs deep, no money grabbing, half ar*ed, fancy Dans like you see on show in the premiership each week.
We have a lot going for the game that a huge influx of money and recognition could damage. Its a fine balancing act I suppose.

| Thought last nights game was the best yet, I also felt Tonga were robbed by the video ref at the death as that was a try for mine.
In relation to the competition itself it is going fantastically well. I think the RFL, have the platform and the level they are pitching it at bang in the money.
No point in getting too ambitious, full stadia is important along with a great product. So far in my opinion we have laid some great foundations on which to build. Rugby League has to be in it for the long haul, a modest yet successful World Cup is another step done the right track.

Going to the Tonga/Cook Isles match at Leigh next week (I've had me jabs) so looking forward to listening to tonight to see how they perform (not got Sly, so thank F for 5Live).
Sat right at the back of the Pearl Street stand on Monday & the Irish supporters were a bit quiet (with reason), but crackin' atmosphere overall.
Just hope the Yawnion mob don't manage to hijack the weekend though.

I do not think that McNamara ever intends to pick MM, he is only in the squad in case Roby was to get injured, then he would have to pick him so that he wouldn't have to bring another player in.
McNamara's will always go with Roby at halfback for about 55min, then move Sinfield to halfback which would let him bring either Widdop or Burrow in.
If MM was to come on he would find it hard to bring on a half back substitute without making wholesale changes, it is set in stone that Chase and Sinfield play the full 80, regardless of form.

| I wouldn't be surprised to see Micky get his chance Vs Fiji in what will be a real physical battle.
On another note Josh had better hope Briscoe doesn't impress (Which shouldnt be too hard Vs Ireland) otherwise he might not get another game in the World Cup.

| Barring injuries I think McIlorum and Hardaker may well struggle to get a game this series given their involvement in the drinking incident and the fact both are fringe players. It's a shame though, I think Mclorum would be a handy player to have out there in the opening stages of a test match. I'm undecided on Hardaker, it would be nice to have him in there but that would mean Tomkins to 6 (good) but then dropping one of Widdop or Sinfield. IMO Widdop's not really had a fair crack yet and we need Sinfield for his boot, plus like him or loathe him he has a hell of a lot of experience of leading teams to victory in big games.
