I just cannot understand why he felt the need to do this.

Id have to assume depression, which is clearly a horrible thing.

Also horrible was having to watch Eddie break the news and see Barrie / Carney react to it. Amazing they held it together.

So sad for him and his family. I hope others can meet this with compassion rather than judgement.

Absolutely stunned, why would you go and do a stupid thing like that Terry? Rest In Peace, the best English hooker of his generation, and one of the hardest Wigan players I've ever seen.

My thoughts are with Terry's family and friends. He provided us with so many wonderful moments for Wigan and Great Britain. He lived and breathed Rugby League and it is a massive shame it has come to this. He was often quite hot headed but you can't deny he was a passionate character and passion is what makes the sport so great. The image of him crying shall remain an iconic image and shows his love of the club.

RIP Sleep tight Tez, My thoughts are with his wife and family at this very sad time.

Newton was the sort of hooker we are in need of at the club now.

I'm shocked and saddened by this news. I started supporting Wigan the season after he left, so unfortunately never got to see him pull on the Cherry & White, but got a fairly good idea of the player he was for us through videos and fan's opinions.

He set a true example of how our game should be played - Knock seven bells out of the opposition for 80 minutes, be best mates afterwards. I'll never forget how much of a great sport he was following the 30-31 game at Odsal in '07. He must've been gutted, but still shook the hand of every single Wigan player and applauded the travelling crowd.

I had quite a lump in my throat watching Brian Carney earlier, how he held it together I'll never know.

Let's win the Grand Final on Saturday for Terry. Rest in Piece big fella.
