Andy Coley/Martin Gleeson might be overlooked because they will have retired by the time the 2013 World Cup comes along.

No real complaints. Farrell and Mossop will push their way into an England jersey IMO. Two excellent players who are only going to get better. So pleased we have them on five-year deals.

If Gareth Hock comes back and makes the improvement under Madge/Wane and plays anything like he is capable of he will be in the mix for a starting jersey for sure.

Well done to Paul Prescott & Mike McIlorum. Two players who aren't tied down to long-term deals with the club. Maintain their current form and rate of improvement, I see no reason why they wont be tied up to lengthy contracts.

Interesting to note that Leeds have only one player in the England Knights squad.

A lad at work (Stains fan) sent me a copy and paste of the squads on a bragging email this afternoon with the header - Nine St Helens Players in England Set-up.

He sent this to three Wigan supporting colleagues including me (hoping to get a rise), I read it and sent him one back saying there were Ten Wigan Players in the squads....he was gutted, he hadn't even bothered to check before sending it to us.

A little embarrased, he then came over and stated that both clubs were doing tremendous work in bringing through local players that go on to achieve International duties.

He was then told by me that of his nine players, Pryce was purchased from Bradford, Wilkin from Hull KR, Shenton from Castleford and LMS from Harlequins, so only five of his nine were Academy produced.

I then told him that all ten Wigan players were all Academy produced.

His face was a picture.

Great to see all 10 of our lads have come through the academy.

Hats off to our youth system.

At this point someone should mention that he was the top tackler, from either side, in the WCC game...

Made up for Micky McIlorum. He's coming on leaps and bounds and is a big game player. He's tough as they come and will thrive in the big international games.

After Roby he's without doubt the 2nd best British hooker and he'll make a very good double act with Roby. That will be one heck of a hard working combo . The pair of them don't stop coming at you all game in attack and defence.
