Absolutely tremendous tonight and for many seasons, he is definitely the MOS for this year if there is any honesty.

To say a winger souldn't win that award is plain stupid, the guy is awesome, his vision, speed and quality is there for all to see.

When he knows he will be caught he makes time for the players backing up and puts in some astounding kicks and passes. Tonight Wigan completely dismantled Hull F.C. and he was the architect.

I just don't think he and any other foreigners should be in the England team though.

I remember the first time Pat Richards came over here and more importantly the first time he played at Belle Vue... Most of the Wigan fans were praying to God that he'd go home asap. I wonder how many still think that and I wonder how many would trade all the points he's scored for the points they wouldn't have scored without him!

Richards was outstanding last night and has been all season.

Pat is one of the greatest players of the SL era.

I know that there's a view that the MoS should go to a hard-grafting forward rather than a winger but Richards has been the stand-out player in SL this season. If he doesn't win the MoS it will be an absolute disgrace (though after the Roby/Barrett fiasco who knows what the idiots in the RL establishment are capable of...).

I wish I could find the thread with all the Saints fans posting a couple of years ago that Pat wasn't fit to lace the boots of the Slug, there were more gems like the Saddened! quote on there.

The reality is that every fan of every other club in SL would love to have Pat in their team.

Saddened is almost right though when he says Pat is a "myth", though the actual word he was looking for was "legend". Pat is an all-time Wigan legend who would have graced even the great sides of the early to mid 90s - I would love to have seen him at full back with Robinson and Offiah on the wings....

think pat richards is awesome and think most super league clubs wished they had him in they're team in fact think its a pleasure to watch wigan full stop shame im from yorkshire, wigan defo the team this year and hope they go on to win the league and grand final...

He was awesome last night and he really can do it all. He is very committed to the club and always gives 100%. He is exactly the type of import that you want and could put many of the others, who come to this country for the money and nothing else, to shame. He is well on his way to becoming a Wigan legend and is a certainty for Man of Steel in my opinion.

Pat is two tries away from his 100th for Wigan. Big cheer when that happens, hopefully next week.

I have said before that I enjoy seeing lightening quick wingers, I still do and Pat isn't one of these.

However, what a fantastic finisher. He certainly knows how to get the ball over the try line. Fantastic.

Yes. He has all the skills of top players and the size and strength to go with it. He is almost the perfect modern day winger. He could be a little faster though.

He used to be the fastest at the club, but seems to have lost 10 yards, I remember Ashton got 80 meters and giving it to Richards to finish as Lesley was coming across as Pat kept up with him

He hadnt lost 10 yards when he went the full length against Wire. He looks slow but because his stride is so big he flys. An absolute gem of a player.

Riley wouldnt have got near him last year

I think a few years ago Richards could have gone under the sticks but he had to stay wide because Riley is slightly quicker.
