| I thought about a double header but to me the City of Manchester is too big even if they make the tickets pretty cheap.
In a perfect world you'd be looking at a ground thats a decent distance from all 4 clubs that holds around 30,000.
The Reebok would seem a good option but somebody mentioned they have a freindly there on the Saturday so it'd have to be Sunday( if at all with it being so close to the start of the Premiership i can't see them wanting a rugby match on it).

That in itself rules out all possibility of any games at the Reebok, Eastlands etc etc. One at Widnes, one at Warrington.

10 weeks - should be enough time from Nobby to try 4 or 5 more half-back combinations and 2 or 3 more hookers!

I dont think it would be too big. We took like 14,000 to Warrington for the cup semi against Catalans so I am sure we could take a similar amount to Manchester. Saints and Wire would also take huges amounts with a good few thousand, you could easy fill the bottom 2 sections making it look full on tv and just having a few in the upper sections when the rest of the tickets run out.

Well the total attendance was only 10,218 for that game so where did the other 3,500 or so go??
But the Widnes ground according to there web site only holds 13.500 so i dont think it would be big enough for us and Wire this time round plus its not that easy to get to

There were only around 10,000 at that game and Wigan probably took 9,000 of them.

Sorry I just was pretty sure it was full, didn't look at the crowd, but still 9,500 Wigan fans is good.

If we have enough of those wanting to go ti the semi final against Wire theres going to be quite a few dissapointed people because Widnes won't be big enough.
Gunna be on the ball getting these tickets.

Well if Wigan take 8,000 and wire 6,000 Widnes is not big enough as it only holds 13,500 according to there web site

tbh i could see Wire selling more tickets then us if they were allowed.
They'll be confident of winning this one i reckon and will jump on the bandwagon.
If we can sell near what we sold for the Catalans semi and they could sell something similar then Widnes is nowhere near big enough but then i remember everybody saying that last time.

| That's less than 7k each, the figures don't really add up. If we take at least 9k to a game against catalans, add in extra for local derby and same principle at Warrington = mad rush for tickets!
Where else could they take it though, reebok, jjb are out due to football season. Only ovther place this side of the penines is Saints but they'd not have liked a semi at such an aging ground. I'd have prefered saints though.

| The RFL say the decision will be made as soon as possible this week as soon as they have spoken to all clubs involved.
I presume that means clubs that are in the semi's and the venues they are thinking of going to.

Can you imagine us and wire fans sharing terraces? Never in a million years it'd be a warzone - sadly. It's the only option.
Only options would be other side of the pennines but with the football fixtures not out yet they don't know when the Galpharm would be available I guess.

| If it is indeed at Widnes, it is a travesty, and highlights the total lack of balls that the RFL have at the moment.
What happened to holding semi finals at big stadiums and attracting big crowds like they used to? I would imagine this would actually put people off even trying to get tickets, thinking that they've no chance, so there's no point even trying. You will also get no-one attempting to pay on the door, and therefore no chance of speculative/casual supporters going.

Rubbish. You might get a few idiots, but it's hardly like Afghanistan, is it?
In any case, if people want a fight, then they'll fight inside or outside the ground.
I suppose at least if it's outside, it won't disturb the match and won't look bad on the telly.

I think you'd get quite a few idiots, especially if its a Saturday when the booze flows. Most Saturday games you see an idiot or two being stupid through beer. Theres too many hide away knooks and crannies in that shed rather than a seated stadium.

Surely next seasons football fixtures are done and dusted? I would imagine the RFL were already aware of what grounds are available for all possible semi's before the draw was even made. I would imagine as well that today they will simply be finalising KO times for the Beeb.
