Although incredibly disappointed, I was more concerned that Gleeson did it [iand[/i played in the game.

| Mick Hogan mentioned Huddersfield and their season ticket prices, which they slashed by half. What % rise increase in crowds did he say they have achieved this season? I know it was incredibly low (less than 10%), and is this actually correct?

Just been told on another thread by im assuming a huds fan that it was 100% increase, now not sure if he meant increase on last seasons ticket sales.

You have the right to be displeased and to express it, but we're not talking about a bit of unhappyness over specific things. What I keep seeing from albeit a small (but EXTREMELY vocal) minority is a systematic series of abuse and vitriol [iregardless[/i of the [iactual[/i performance of the player.

| I didn't go and I have read all the bits, (might have scanned a few), couple of points I am not sure if they have been brought up.
1. What is happening to the players out of contract at the end of the year, (i.e. Bailey and Ainscough), I know Flannagan is thinking of going down under for a couple of years, but how's is that going to work?
2. What are the future marketing idea's do we have planned for our club, attracting sponsors, future big one's, club shop etc, etc.? Went into the club shop at the ground and its was 1/10, rugby & 9/10 football, and Warrior world looks to be a little out of the way.

Which is fair play the point is that much of the abuse was/is thrown out regardless of performance, hence the fans doing it are ignorant.
I am not connected to the sport in anyway and my point is no more valid or less valid than anybodies on here it is a forum for everyone to express and defend there point, sadly the way you throw out personal insults on in this thread makes me wonder if you are a member of the idiot minority that slate a player regardless of performance as was the entire point of this debate, somthing that has clearly gone right over your head.

Bailey - no decision as to resigning him as yet
Ainscough has signed a 3 year deal which was announced a while back
Sponsors Mecca, UCLAN, AWL, PCT, & another can't remember which.
Looking to forge ahead with community work in schools, local clubs and education. In future looking for a centre of excellence for 16s 18s and 20s to use.
Development of Orrell
Thats all I can remember

IL was questioned last night on when Ainscough would be offered a new contract, since it ran out at the end of the season.
IL replied along the lines of why should he offer him a new contract at the end of the season, when he was only in the early stages of a 3 year contract.
The guy who asked the question stated that Ainscough wasn't and that his contract ran out at the end of this season.
IL maintained that Ainscough had recently signed a 3 year deal.

| One item that no one has raised from last night is in relation to the lease that the club has at the stadium.
IL outlined that when he was negotiating to buy the club, Wigan Rugby had the balance remaining from an original 25 year lease to play at the stadium (around 16 years?). He dictated that we were given a 50 year lease as part of the deal to buy the club.

I'll be surprised if the PCT is main sponsor. Unless the powers that be there are lying when they say there's no money in the pot. I know there is a job freeze on at moment.

I thought Ainscough was given a 3 year contract when we signed up a few of the youngsters a few months ago.

Someone actually tried arguing with Ian Lenegan, the owner of Wigan RL, who controls everything that goes on behind the scenes especially contracts, about a whether a players contract runs out or not?

| Quote ="MattyB"For me the most damning question of the night was the lady from Chorley Panthers ARLFC. They have 200 kids playing regular RL, Saints have been scouting there for seasons, picking up Matty Ashurst and a couple of other known names along the way.
Wigan Warriors Scouting Representatives have never visited once....!!!!!!
As previously thought, 90% of the club's time and efforts are scouting at St Patricks ARLFC. If you don't play there there's a good chance they don't wanna know....Its been going on for years!
Hopefully the wheels of change are turning though, lets bloody hope so!'"
It has always been so. The problem is also often a Warriors/Service Area issue though.
2 examples I know of personally (ie, 1st hand, not friends of friends etc) are:
Player plays 8 years at same club without a sniff. Parents are 'advised' to take him to Pats. Plays 1 game and is signed by Wigan.
Player from an 'unfashionable' Wigan club is nominated for service area for 3 consecutive years but misses out. He has never been watched by Wigan and at 16 he has now been signed by Saints and has gone straight into their Academy.
I could go on and on all night......
