Absolutely. He's already in my eyes a Wigan legend as he has given his all for this club during many horrible years. Thankfully he's now finally been rewarded with trophies. A true professional who has been consistently top class for years. Endured a lot of unfair flak about being Wigan's captain but has never let it get to him. Class act

He's been a magnificent servant during some very hard times for this club and he richly deserves this testimonial. I hope he gets a great turnout and i, for one, will be there.

To get a 12 month testimonial you have to have served ten years with one club.

THERE'S NORMALLY A CHARITY INVOLVED SOMEWHERE (oops caps lock). Most of them seem to do a testimonial shirt too. It would be good if he paid homage to his roots and did a St Pats style one in all black.

A well deserved reward for 10 years service and loyalty to the club. Sets a great example to all players across all of RL who go into a sulk and want away before their contracts are up!

The club doesn't automatically give a testimonial. I am pretty sure Steve Hampson was a 10 year man and he and the fans were a bit miffed he didn't get one.

As to the RFL involvement isn't it because he will make money from it so without RFL permission being required that would be a nice rouse to get around the salary cap.

It's time that we pitted ourselves(league) against the other code again, i remember the Wigan V Bath games and the Twickenham 7's(or whatever it was), and Rugby League certainly had the bragging rights that year , and proved we were by far the better game/players/teams/athletes etc etc

The only stumbling block would be when to hold it, with how the seasons overlap.
