i remember all the abuse thrown at us from cas fans because the felt they had been cheated when infact if they had bothered to look properly at the table we would of still stayed in super league and they still would of been relegated....but thats the past and should stay there

as for calling ALL wire fans scum i think that is out of order and i feel it should be stopped....the person who said it is being an idiot...out of the crowd on saturday only a handful caused a bit of comotion andf from what i saw it was delt with quickly......

after the game a bloke came up to me and was agressive (im 5ft 4in and female) but was quite shocked when i told him where to go.....but i put that down to him being an idiot not the whole of the wire fans. at wigan we have afew idiots who think they are being clever shouting stuff then hiding behind the crowd...sadly that is the way some are.......to stop it we have to tell them when it happens we the mijority wont tollerate that behaviour at our wonderful game.......all fans from all clubs should do it them maybe the idiots will stay at home or go follow another spoty

The solution Imo (and its drastic) would be to bring semi finals and finals of both G/F and CC forward to a noon kick off, and ban alcohol in the grounds, and let the ones who go for a booze up have one after the game when all the decent fans and families have gone home.

i predict by doing that there would be a great drop in attendances , which will strengthen my argument that some people use these events to have an all dayer and overdo it.

A noon kick off for the CC final would be a problem in terms of fans who want to go there for the day as most will be coming from up north.

I can see your point and in a way agree with it but you won't stop the people drinking before the game, and the majority of people can drink without going on to cause trouble so perhaps what would be better is more proactive policing/stewarding of the game with those who are causing problems being removed from the game and the surrounding areas leaving those who do care about the actual game to enjoy it.

well thats another solution.
they do it a footy matches, and its an offence to enter a football ground under the influence IIRC.........if youve had too many , you dont get in.

a visit to the surrounding pubs too, and confiscate tickets off anyone who looks to have had too much to drink.......then they can stay in the pub and leave the rest of us to watch the match in peace.

the noon KOs are (i believe) done at the insistance of the local police who decide what times games kick off , as they are the ones policing the games. Saturday night they are srtetched enough in Manc, so if there carries on being bother at G/F they might force the RL to move the KO to noon , like they do with selective Man u and City games.

From a personal point of view yes. I have beem to plenty of Hull matches and found the Hull fans ( both teams) great to be around, no problems whatsoever!

dont talk bollox...i attend plenty of rugby matches and have a good drink and an all dayer as you put it....it dosnt mean i want to fight with everyone i see just because my team won/lost!

I have been to many grounds away from home and have not seen any sign of trouble at all. This season we walked back to our car at the KC stadium surrounded by loads of Hull FC fans and not trouble or comments at all, just good natured fans who wished us well for the season.

I have been to games at the JJB where after the match some so called Wigan fans have been spoiling for a fight with away fans after the match.

I have been to one grand final (2003) and one challenge cup final (2004) where the people around us behaved worse than in the major football events we have been to. It is like the big event brings out the cretins from behind thier rocks.

As for who has got the worst fans and who is the scum of rugby league, well what an absolute nonsense. We all have some fans we wish we hadn't, each and every single team in SL. But on the whole we have a damn load of fans who are a credit to our game.

i strongly disagree with the alcohol banning ...why should the majority suffer for the minority...i by the way dont drink as i have my 6 year old daughter with me....but dont see why others shouldnt...its part of our game ..a few drinks with opposing fans ..a bit of banter and off to the game....WE ARE NOT FOOTBALL FANS

.my hubby runs coaches and we have a mixed age group ....2-70.......and if anyone on our buses does anything remotely out of order we stop it straight away.....as i said previously we as fans need to police our own supporters and stop it before it escalates.....Rugby League is a family sport ...lets keep it that way

If theres continual trouble , it THE POLICE who have powers to shut down bars and bring in alcohol bans , and move KO times.

Exactly........i would say i vast number of fans go for the event, and all day drink with their mates yet dont cause problems.....the problems are caused by mindless morons with too much testostorone and something to prove! What the RFL needs to do is ban this minority of morons from the game! In wires case youd probably be getting rid of half their crowd tbh but if that needs to be done get it done!! That picture for example should be sent to the club and the police and all the offenders banned....its a pretty good picture in decent resolution so it cant be too hard to find those idiots and slap banning orders on them.....i recon simply by posting that picture on the wire site here you could get half of em by the decent fans coming forward saying who they were!

I've had enough of this thread and the bickering between Wigan and Warrington fans on here. It's getting like the Hull/HKR forums.

I thought we'd done quite well to keep things relatively quiet after the semi and fair play to people who seem to have read the warnings both here and on the Wire forum but I thought it would be too good to last.
