Someone calling someone a 'a stupid Scottish c u n t may not see the Scottish person take huge offense however that does not mean calling someone' a stupid Polynesian v u n t is not extremely offensive to the Polynesian on the receiving end of such abuse.

The real question should be why would Clubb feel he has to even use Savelio's ethnicity in the first place? Why not just use the C word? The fact that he felt the need to mention the ethnicity of Savelio to me speaks volumes. I just don't understand how one thinks like that.

I've had plenty arguments with people but not once have I even thought to use someone's ethnicity, race, nationality, religion against them let alone say such a thing.

If someones a prick they are a prick. I'll tell them that. What there race or nationality maybe is irrelevant and has no bearing on them being a prick so why the heck use them as well?

I get that but normally the Asian, black or whatever part of the insult is used because the person throwing the insult sees that as somehow inferior or beneath themselves. I've never seen or heard of that attitude with regard to Polynesians. To extend your analogy to call someone a white c**t wouldn't be seen as racist (rightly or wrongly). What I'm saying is I've never heard Polynesian used in this way either. I'm certainly not excusing it (you seem to be of the opinion that I am for some reason) I'm merely making the observation that it's a strange choice of phrase and not one that I have ever come across.

If anyone wants a example of why the sports of Football, Rugby League and Rugby Union are having a weekend boycott of social media, they only need to look at many of the comments about the alleged case of racist abuse in the Hull game.

To its credit, the rival website of Wigan Warriors Fans has closed down for the weekend in support of the boycott.

RL Fans should have done the same as social media is now out of control as proved by many of the comments we are now seeing these days.

I've not heard it used in this context but there are hundreds, possibly thousands of ethnic groups you could say the same for. Using someone's ethnicity as part of an insult gives it a completely different context.

I don't think you have understood what that social media boycott is about.....at all. Maybe you could boycott social media for a while to make up for the rest of us not doing?

I don't disagree but by that logic any ethnicity, including white, is racist when used in this context.

It's a bit ambiguous as to whether or not it is a race. It is a group of islands, correct, but it seem that now it's a term used to describe a race of people, i.e. Tongan, Samoan, Maori... etc.

Still doesn't make it racist though Pemps. I have a lot of Irish heritage and i get called a etc even though my Wigan accent is as broad as anybody's. I don't get offended by it. If there is any ban forthcoming then it should be for him for creating a media storm and descending a lynch mob this way. Everybody jumps on the race card at every opportunity when there hasn't even been any racism but when it reversed nobody bats an eyelid. I watched something a couple of weeks ago 'The great british sewing bee' (yes i am forced to) and an Asian woman on there said "just be confident, pretend you are a single straight white man" Brushed under the carpet after complaints. Anthony Joshua on a BLM rally "Hit them (White people) where it hurts, invest only in black run businesses" Loads of complaints, brushed under the carpet. Say something completely innocent against a non-white person and the media go into meltdown. The whole woke, snowflake, politically correct and easily offended folk in this country have turned it into an embarrassment.

Clubb (allegedly) says “you silly Polynesian ” which in turn means he’s essentially saying Savellio is a “silly ” because he’s Polynesian.

If someone says to you “you silly English ” some may find it offensive, some may not but it’s down to your own perception. Do you perceive it to be hate related because you’re English? If so that [ican[/i make it a racially aggravated offence. Just because you don’t perceive it to be racist, which I’m astounded you don’t, doesn’t mean it isn’t.

You know it’s ironic you’re calling everyone else ‘woke, snowflakes, politically correct and easily offended’ when you sit there and have the gall to get offended at The Great British Sewing Bee. A single straight white man hasn’t faced discrimination, isn’t given abuse online about his skin colour or sexual orientation, doesn’t face barriers for work/leisure. I never did, not once but I know of a black friend who has multiple times.

As it happens I was frustrated with AJ’s comments, especially as a fan who pays to see all his fights but on the flip side I can completely understand why. Racism is rife in our communities. It’s online everyday, simply look at any post a BAME sports player puts on social media and I guarantee there’s a racist response. Society has sat back and done nothing about it except our fingers in our ears and pretend it’s not happening. Do I think sometimes the race card is played unnecessarily? Absolutely. Just like you playing the ‘woke snowflake’ card.

I agree there are often double standards regarding the sort of insults that are acceptable and the ones that are not. I also agree that some people seem to look for offence in the most mundane things these days. However, if you really don't understand why racial slurs aimed at black or Asian people are more offensive than the ones aimed at whites, then I would say you are a lost cause at this point. White, straight, middle aged men might be the butt of a few jokes occasionally, or sometimes unfairly stereotyped. But it's not even remotely comparable to the discrimination and hate that many minorities have suffered, and in many cases continue to suffer.

Connor out on Saturday with a one game ban. A bit surprised he was only charged with a Grade B - it looked a deliberate high shot to me on Hardaker (plus the forearm to the face in the 6th minute).

Clubb charged with a Grade F offence - tribunal tomorrow.

The Connor ban will go down like a fart in a lift over Hull way. I’m sure they’ll appeal it but you have to wonder what goes on in the lads head when Hardaker making a comment saying he thinks he’s the best fullback throws him in to such a spin.

If found guilty carries at least eight matches or a suspension period.

And if he has said it he will deserve all 8 of them.
