Fielden and Riddell where utterly poor today.

The youngsters did lead the way which was no bad thing.

Hansen was much improved.

I would be quite happy to see the back of both Riddell and Fielden tbh.

I have and it is. Referring to The Chair Makers comments in previous posts in relation to defensive attitude and game style it is a far more fluid game these days. Defense is far tougher, more balanced, agile and harder working. Far more thought goes into closing down agile attack and quick incisive play. No more five yard lines as well as fitter more drilled players closes down spats of thoughtful half back play. With the more drilled and agile defensive lines it takes more than something special from in play ball to break and this consequently has called for sharper skills in attack.

I think in this country compared to the N.R.L the only way we lag is in our production of half backs (maybe ) Some may say that has always been the case but with modern day tight defensive strategy I think this is something our youth system should be working on.

Did you see the workload he was putting in on tackles? Ive never seen anything like it! In the second half he was in for every 2-3 tackles....Wouldnt like to know what his workload was but if that was disapointing ill have another 5 in the pack as dissapointing as him.

The disapointing players in the pack are players like fielden and fatty arbuckle Riddell (did you see how unfit that guy was tonight!?!) only came on in two spells and the second time he just walked around doing nothing as he was that knackered!!!

I just keep praying that fat lump of 5hyte is homesick and packs his bags ASAP....he looks even fatter after his little mid season holiday...where ive no doubt hes put away 100 pints!!

i thought tomkins was cr@p, outshined by riddell in every department imo.

Yeah i wasnt complaining at the charity....its just usually its always seems to be mike greg and so it surprised me a bit.

I recon we should start a 'Fly useless Aussies Home Fund' though....that way whenever one of our talented youngsters won the award they could really be rewarded

The only department he outshone either of the tompkins's on was either the drinking beer or eating pies department.

Every time he was on the field he slowed the game down, whether it was his distribution, running (sic) more like plodding, etc. We were a different team with Mcillurum on the field. Riddell should be in the reserves full time until he completes a super slim fast diet or should be on the next plane back home!

Sam was superb had he not been on the field we would not have won. McIllorum was the better of the two hookers today.

in the opening quarter when riddell was on we were awful, once mickey and sam came on we were a different team, god knows why noble brought piggy back on it nearly cost us the game, he needs to go back to aus and take smith with him 2 diabolical signings.

Probably both did as much as one another in the tackling department. I think that O'Loughlin, Fielden and J. Tomkins are our best defenders but only O'Loughlin showed us anything in attack as well tonight. Joel & Stuart were poor and made the most mistakes.

Give it a rest FFS.

In the first 15 minutes a lot of the team played crap, slow line speed, lack of organisation etc.

Riddell was very poor today, Tomkins very good.

As much as it pains me to say it i hope we have him for another couple of years and he goes to the NRL, the standard of comp in the UK at the moment is so poor he will never realise his potential in this environment. Sad but true.

Will develop into a far better player than Myler, played well for you guys today...

sam was quality tonight, but to single out smith is wrong he was clearly injured

riddell was outshone by mccilorum(sp) again

come on noble the young kids are showing the way

sam ainscough prescott etc are putting roberts and fielden to shame

give them more game time

I see that Noble's plan was to introduce Sam at fullback What!!! has he completely lost it.

it was either the plan from the beginning, because we had 2 hookers in the 17 as well leuluai,

OR

he meant it as he was going to replace carmont with phelps then going to centre when carmont originally looked like he was going to be forced off with his shoulder really early on.
