There is a lot of OTT indignation on this thread - EVERY team in SL has pulled a player back this season, probably on numerous occasions. It happens, just like S Tomkins cheating for penalties at the play the ball.

When, all of a sudden, did fans of "The Wigan Club" enter a position where they could criticise other teams and players as "cheats"?

Cheating has been in the very make-up of "The Wigan Club" for long enough. One player pulling back a support player pales into insignificance compared to a £200k+ overspend on the salary cap.

Couldnt be bothered to read throught 12 pages of crap, plus ive got a flight to catch in a few hours, so I dont even have the time. But in response to the OP we wernt robbed, lets face it we didnt deserve to win, yet again we started well scored a few points and let them back in. We blew it, basically. The end was sour and left a bad taste, it was blatant cheating by Mcguire, but I dont expect anything different from him. (was he actually injured or was he just faking it???). Its our own fault we didnt win, simple.....

Just because i expect it doesn't mean i agree with it, let's be honest what goes around comes around, S Tomkins clear cheating which gave wigan a few points is that not just as bad as what McGuire did?

Leeds seem to get more abusive towards the ref year on year. It needs to be stopped now. As for your fans, well everyone knows Leeds have the biggest number of armchair fans in super league, I think their poor turnout last night demonstrates this perfectly.

Every one of those penalties was Phil Bentham cheating though.

I assume Bentham reffed last night too, Wigan only lose when he's in charge.

Just to let you guys know the latest from 5 live is that Rob Burrow is suggesting McGuire's injury merely a strain and doesn't look too serious.

It is not illegal, can someone just post up the rules and then that can be the end of it. God its boring when fans only listen to want they want, and cant see past the fact that it is not cheating nor is it against the rules. That is why on both occassions the penalty correctly went to Wigan.

Technical yes, Misconduct no.

I think a Leeds fan, criticising our discipline is a bit silly when you look at that table. Don't you?

Most of our penalties given away are technical penalties which I am not surprised against, so it is hardly anything bad. Its just a result of our tactics which you can see over the course of the season have worked. Looking at that table Leeds have had more bans than Wigan. Disgraceful.

That table is also interesting, looking at Leeds sin-bins and sending off's compared to everyone else and then the match bans imposed, seems to suggest not a lot is done to penalise a player in a game when they play for Leeds. Good example of this is the Ablett situation on Tomkins.

Genuine question, would what DM did be construed as a technical or misconduct offence? I'm not sure.

I would say obstruction in a technical offence, so the fact that Wigan have more technical offences would be relevant to any hysterical outcry following an obstruction penalty, since Wigan commit more technical offences than any other team.

most of everyones penalties are technical rather than misconduct.

I dont have an argument about it..........I simply think Tomkins is a niggly player (something for which Ryan Bailey gets slaughtered for!) and a penalty machine. Is that not somewhere near correct?
